Good fight. Otto Wallin proved better than expected.

That's the problem if Whytes not interested he may come in at 300 pounds. It looked like he needed Jenny Craig on the Joshua Ruz 2 undercard vs Wach hes either let himself go or getting bored with it.I don't necessarily think it's a bad fight but Wallin is still coming off a loss even if it was a pretty strong performance all things considered. He should at least pick up a win against some reasonable opposition before he warrants a fight with Whyte, I think. I also have a hard time seeing Whyte being all that interested.Comment

Tyson Fury fought Otto Wallin and the WBC deemed that good enough to then promote him to mandatory position. If its good enough for Tyson Fury, if its good enough for the WBC then its good enough for Dillian Whyte and thats good enough for me. Personally if Whyte took that fight id see that as Whyte treading water taking smaller risks until he gets his shot at the WBC belt and i wouldnt blame him one moment for doing it. Its a tried and tested formula used by top fighters all over the world for decades.Comment

Not exactly clear as day.
They have landed flush shots on many opponents and not stopped them, which is why guys like Povetkin and Ruiz have about a 62% KO Ratio.
Povetkin couldn’t even stop blown up Cruiserweight Hunter.
Ruiz stopped a chinny AJ, but apart from that he’s gone 12 with loads of fighters that he hit flush.
Whyte’s power is overrated too. Apart from the Chisora stoppage, he’s never really looked like stopping anyone of note. He did rock AJ but AJ has a biscuit chin, as we know because light punching Ruiz stopped him.Comment

He's probably better off staying inactive than facing the likes of Wallin. Stay in the gym, get into the best shape of his career and only face top opposition. If he's gonna face anyone, it should be Parker or Rivas.Very good post, he has to be careful now and probably cherry pick smartly, but he also needs to be careful like you said due to lack of motivation. His last fight was like a last minute thing, where he looked awful and overweight.
Boxers like Whyte get up more for those sort of dangerous opponents, but 2020 can be a big year for him. His last 4 fights has been Wach, Rivas, Parker and Chisora.. No one can argue with that sort of competition at HW.Comment

Definitely Rivas, especially with that gloves controversy and all. Parker is rebuilding himself at the moment. I don’t mind if he just wants another one or two wins before facing Whyte again.Comment

Wallin is F grade. Takam is B grade at least. They shouldn't be mentioned in same sentence.I wouldn't mind seeing Wallin in with Whyte (or any of the fringe contenders like Takam, etc). If Big Baby Miller needs a fight, that's not a bad matchup.
Wallin is big and tough and has some decent pop. That should be enough to contend with many of these flawed fighters on the fringe. Whyte didn't look all too impressive in his win over Each. If the Viking had a little more stamina or pop, he may have won that fight. He caught Whyte clean way too many times.Comment
