AJ has some time off right now - I believe he is just trying to make some headlines hoping they will work their way to Wilder and get him thinking about AJ and not Fury.

Zero chance Wilder-AJ happens in the UK.

This idiot is delusional. King Wilder runs the HW division.

Okay I think we're agreeing then. This fight, between PPV and live gate, will generate 120-200 million. No way in the world DAZN will pay that amount for the fight. Aj needs to realize its called prize fighting for a reason. He needs to tell Eddie Hearn to go make the fight in Vegas on PPV. If he's going to go in there and risk getting lumped up by Wilder's right hand, he should be compensated accordingly. In America we don't leave ANY money on the table! ANY! This is a Vegas PPV fight only. Just ask the Tyson 'Pillsbury doughboy' Fury.

Your missing an understanding of how funding is made up though. Dazn won’t need to fund it all?

Live gate makes X amount (including potential funding to simply go there eg Saudi or Las Vegas would do)
Numerous marketing sponsors makes X amount
TV rights across multiple countries (so in this case this wouldn’t just be US but the UK and all over the world).

One of the advantages dazn does have is that when it does deals it can be using a multi-country audience rather than just the US that ESPN or showtime does - Japan, Germany and Canada in particular are useful markets dazn can use this sort of fight for branding.

I’m not saying dazn is a definite but it wouldn’t be beyond imagnation.

For the Joshua Ruiz fight it’s not confirmed but understood that Joshua ended up getting around $70m and Ruiz around $9m (increased from initial contract) - again not confirmed, but this was said to be beyond the earnings of both matchroom and sky sports who were the main other parties to gain financially out of the fight.

It’s clearly not beyond possible therefore that this fight could generate significantly more without needing to be in the US or being on ppv.

Let’s put a scenario where it goes to Saudi or Dubai or somewhere similar for example.

          1) Saudi likely to pay significantly more to host fight
          2) UK Ppv likely time increase cost further (if uk time zone) and sales likely to increase much further too? Over 2 million?
          3) US tv rights likely to increase further - whether through dazn or other network.
          4) marketing/sponsors of both fighters likely to be significantly higher
          5) other countries would want to watch fight too , outside of Mexico , is all likely to increase vs the Ruiz fight.

The big downside of fighting American time zone is potential loss of ppv uk subscribers. They probably would have to reduce back to £19.99 and also expect sales to go below 1 million.

I would suggest as a minimum it would be £30 if uk timeframe so I expect a minimum of lost revenue of £10 x 1 million - £10 million (+£1 mil x£30) - so 40 million total lost if done US time zone , some extra from other European countries rights too - that would need to be made up elsewhere.

Putting it in Saudi or use would generate more money than Vegas for sure 15k seats 15m gate 1million ppv or uk with 90k seats probably bring both fighters since it's 50/50 40 million each where's a Saudi fight I could see both keeping 75m each plus no income tax yeah I'll take that option all day

Where the $$$ are = Vegas.
              Prizefighting.

Although, having just read the post above, Saudi does look a viable alternative!

                AJ taking the piss.

Why hold this fight in front of close to 100k in UK when you could hold it in front of 20k in MSG?

Why should the 3-belt champion get to have any say when the 1-belt champion wants it in the US?

Does AJ, in fact, hold an actual licence to drive a cab? Or is he 10 years past his prime or 50 lbs over weight? If not, what makes him think Wilder would even consider this fight?

                Twat.

And for the record, before you jump on me: I think Wilder would actually have a decent chance of knocking Joshua out... But for whatever reason he doesn't seem to want the fight.

AJ will have to fight wilder in the states. Wilder is the A side.

Your logic is flawed. Nobody was dis*****g that Joshua is a big star. What was being discussed is whether Wilder can draw on PPV. He doesn't have to be the biggest draw of all time to still be a draw. His PPVs have done very healthy business. They're also triple the price of AJ's PPVs. So Wilder is doing the equivalent of one million buys at UK prices.

Disagree, USA is boxings capital of the world. Make it happen either in NYC or Las Vegas.
