  • Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson-Josh Warrington Unification Eyed For May 16

Shakur Stevenson is to be offered the unification fight with Josh Warrington he has long sought after, if he is willing to go to Warrington's home town to do it. BoxingScene.com understands that a deal has been agreed between Bob Arum, promoter of Stevenson, the WBO featherweight champion, and Frank Warren, the promoter of Warrington, the IBF champion, for a unification, which would take place at Elland Road, Leeds, on May 16.

Great fight. It seems like all the young prospects and champions are taking high risk fights proving their worth. Tank Davis should take notice.

Warrington shouldn’t even be champion Ghalahad smoked him.

Shakur won’t want that smoke anyway, he’s a woman beating ***** who won’t want to step into hostile territory.

Hopefully this happens, then the winner takes on the winner of Tug vs Russell Jr.

So for it to make financial sense they had to wait until Leeds finished their games for the season. Sucks to wait that long but great fight

Other than that parking lot madness, Shakur is impressive, very skilled, but I don't know how well he will travel. He got handled in the Olympics by a hype job. The tears and bawling didn't show any maturity. He may be susceptible to head games and might fold under pressure. Warrington in the UK is as good a test as any. We all know Josh is a busy body, quantity with some quality, but no nonsense.
