Comments Thread For: Warren To Joshua: Don't Fight, Wait For Wilder-Fury Winner

Anthony Joshua should ignore his mandatory challengers and wait to face the winner of the February 22 clash between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, according to Frank Warren, Fury's promoter. After regaining his WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight titles from Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia this month, Joshua was ordered by the WBO and IBF to face their mandatory challengers Oleksandr Usyk and Kubrat Pulev respectively.

Good ole fish eyes telling Joshua to not rematch Ruiz, not fight his mandatorys. He wants Matchroom to crash and burn so much that he actually suggests they do all the wrong things. Hes about as bitter as a promoter can be these days. He truly hates anything Hearn.

“I’d let them strip me of my titles and not fight anybody until the big one."

It's not the "big one" without the titles. Wilder v Joshua has been intriguing all this time because it would create an undisputed champion holding every major belt.

Selfish propaganda - but he’s not wrong. If Joshua could get knocked out by an average punching HW like Ruiz, then he’s capable of losing any top tier heavyweight at any time

You're right. I think guys are missing Warren's point.

He wasnt the only one saying AJ shouldn't rematch Ruiz, at least not right away. AJ had no confidence in that fight. AJ has brutalized guys WAY better than Ruiz. AJ should have got a couple KOs under his belt than seeked revenge. My opinion at least

Hell Nah! That's the Okie Doke! Joshua better get that bag in the UK! Joshua vs. Usyk will make more money than Wilder vs. Fury, because there's way less hands in the cookie jar!

If wilder is capable of KO anyone in front of him, he won't be carrying just one belt around.
                Its that simple.

Warren opinion doesn't matter. He's not the boss in matchroom.

The top fight here is unquestionably Wilder v Fury 2 .They are two guys at the top of their game and master boxer v master KO artist .All the other guys have shown their limitations by losing apart from Usyk who looks good but is untested at Heavyweight and may not make the grade with theses enormous guys now in the division.Warren makes a reasonable amount of sense here as Joshua has shown a less than strong chin and could go at any time as Ruiz proved.

When the dust settles it will not be Joshua at the top of the pile but with all the money and manouvering by the promoters we will never have these guys fighting much against each other any way.
