Gervonta Davis capped a perfect day with talks of what he believes will be an even brighter future. Chief among the weekend highlights were a parade in his Baltimore (Maryland) hometown, in honor of the former two-time 130-pound titlist as noted in the themed Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Day. Hours later came a guest appearance at the hosting table for a Showtime-televised tripleheader in Reading, Pennsylvania, where the unbeaten 24-year old rising star was on hand to discuss his Dec. 28 showdown versus 2004 Olympic Gold medalist and former unified featherweight titlist Yuriorkis Gamboa at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Here’s an article from boxingscene, which is owned by CBS (which also owns Showtime, a network affiliated with PBC) quoting Gervonta Davis saying he thinks he and Leo Santa Cruz will fight and it will headline a PPV card in 2020.
Is that enough to justify my thread now? LMFAO.Comment

Any smaller guy PPV is a bad bet as a get rich quick move. Only 1 PPV with guys under 140lbs has cracked 400k buys (Manny vs JMM 2). Only 8 have done 200k+ buys (not counting UK PPVs which have a lower price although that likely would add 2 or 3 more to the list if I did count them).
That said that also means the expectations are low as well so if you do 200k buys you did AMAZING historically & are in the all time top 10. So I expect them to dip their toe in a Tank PPV soon cuz the guy is popular there is no denying that. Sh^t I kinda thought theyve done it sooner truth be told. At this stage I think 135 is getting to compelling to not do it soon.Comment
