Sure, and Arum predicted Crawford vs Khan to do 1 million+ PPV buys. Look how that prediction turned out

Bob and Warren constantly bringing up what they expect it to do and comparing it to the Tyson Lewis days doesn't help either. I know plenty of old timers who lived through boxings Glory days, and are no longer interested in todays landscape because "it's not the same as back then" when "everyone fought everyone, everyone wanted to be the best".
It wont cost much because espn and fox can run commercials and promos on their own networks. It only cost a lot when arum was with hbo and hbo and arum had to buy airtime on networks for commercials. Fox and espn are heavy on twitter, youtube and social media. They learned this from ufc build up fights online equals low cost and far reach. If the fight doesn't sell it either means nobody cares about wilder or fury, or boxing is dead.

Probably 700K buys. Great promotion around superBowl. One guy is an entertaining dancing bear who loves to scrap, the other guy has highlight reels like a Mike Tyson, and both are undefeated. Both want to scrap. Fury is the intruiging character who you want to listen to, Wilder is the guy you respect fear yet root for. Heavyweight Boxing will make its return after 20 years of a boring untalented crop of nobodies and a champ with no chin and every physical advantage.

This fight should have been easy to make because both FOX and ESPN are owned by DISNEY. It's not going to do 2 mill. Hopefully 6 - 900k. Boxing will do huge numbers once everyone starts to fight everyone. When the public realizes boxing is like the 1970s-90s they will come back because they won't be getting a steady dose of "I cant fight you you're on the wrong side of the street WAH WAH WAH". All we need is for PBC and Top rank is to make all fights possible and we will be back in business. And oh yeah we don't need DA-ZASTER. Saw Danny Jacobs in the crowd at the Tank fight last night and looks like he's on his way back over. Just need Haney and Andrade to come to PBC and thats it!

why do they think this though? they already did the first fight and it flopped. must be some kind of trump like tax write off where their businesses lose billions but they somehow make money personally.

Arum suggested that the fight would do 2 million buys in the US and could make $250 million worldwide.
“The first fight did 350,000 [on American pay-per-view], but nobody knew Tyson Fury in the States,” Arum said. “And based on his two prior fights nobody gave him a chance. He’s a guy who’s larger than life, he knows how to promote himself.
“For the first time ever in the United States we have two major networks working on the same promotion.

Okay so this fight has some potential; the stars aligning, sort to speak.
But that being said, some of the shine has worn off of this fight, for me.
Truth be told, I never really got over this rematch not happening right away. All I'm saying is I'm not as "up" for this bout as I once was. They had like this mutual admiration thing going after the first bout, then Fury seeming like he was in no rush to ever face Wilder again.
Regardless of how AJ-Ruiz II played out, I kind of admire that they went right back at it. Who have Wilder and Fury been fighting in the meantime ?
                So much talk.

2million is wishful thinking... I'm gonna guess 1.2million buys.

I like the idea of both ESPN and FOX running ads for them to generate buzz. I'm just not sure that will translate to buys in this short amount of time.. but who knows... Maybe, more ads in a less amount of time, will generate better then these long, drawn out pressers and tours.

700k is a great number but thats a failure for this type of super fight, FOX and ESPN will reconsider promoting boxing if it doesn't break a million buys this is going to be on PPV.
