In the United States, the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury rematch, which is scheduled for February 22 in Las Vegas, will be joint pay-per-view between Fox and ESPN. No UK broadcast agreement has been made yet. Sky Sports have made what was described as a "substantial" offer for the fight, although BT Sport will get the rights if they match Sky's offer.

Fury will win this one. He should just box smart and patiently in a really serious fighting mood ( no showboating) and avoid getting overconfident.Wilder was struggling to land a single punch on Ortiz who clearly showed weak and shaky legs from round 1 and have no head movement at all( that says alot).

Headline should've read: Two old idiots overpay Gypsy B---h for two bum bashes, hope to recoup money fighting Wilder.

I think it will do a solid PPV number. With a co promoted event it has to for it to be considered a success.
I doubt it does a big live gate but should do a decent buy rate.

You got two power house networks in Fox and Espn pushing this fight, if this fight fails at the box office and does under a million buys both networks are going to contemplate if they still want to cover boxing because they expect big numbers and if this fight doesn't break a million buys it just shows boxing is dead.

Some espn execs were saying this fight will be the highest selling ppv since Tyson Lewis. So that means they expect two million plus buys. Well espn and fox better promote the hell out of it if they want numbers, the fight is only a few weeks away in February.

The ppv people in the UK are already fighting over who can screen this the biggest fight in boxing. This fight will decide who remains the unbeaten top dog and top man in the division. As Warren said master puncher v master boxer.

That's the thing though, all that promotion costs money. I want this fight to succeed for boxings sake, but I'm just not that confident that this one fight will do enough in the long run.

Bob and Warren constantly bringing up what they expect it to do and comparing it to the Tyson Lewis days doesn't help either. I know plenty of old timers who lived through boxings Glory days, and are no longer interested in todays landscape because "it's not the same as back then" when "everyone fought everyone, everyone wanted to be the best".

I don't see this fight doing remotely close to 2million. I think 1mill is a realistic goal but not an easyone no matter how much they promote it.

Gotta keep in mind these guys purses, the heavy cost of heavy promotion, and then all the hands in this pie that have to get their cut since this is a joint network deal.

Even if it does good numbers I'm not sure who besides fury and Wilder stands to make a ton of money

This is a risky event. If this thing flops, these joint network fights will continue to be extremely rare or may never happen again

This is a rush pay per view , should've had something like Wilder vs Bryan & Fury vs Kean on FOX on the same night to then setup the PPV
