he threw like 15 punches a round. At one point, two minutes into a round, Paulie mentioned that he had thrown ONE punch that round.

I don't do this nuthugging thing other people seem to enjoy doing. If I watch a fighter who performs poorly, I'll say so. If a fighter is hyped up and doesn't produce anything like a convincing performance. I'll say so. Regardless of if it's Tank, Lopez, Loma, Haney etc.
no one is nuthugging guy..im a grown man...it makes no difference to me what happens to tank...im a white male from new england....i dont care nor am i invested in tank

      i watched the fight

he barely lost a round...knocked the guy out and put him down 3x....

he hadnt been 12 before and theres def some conditioning issues.....he needs to clean that up.....but its not like he was getting hit a ton or missing a ton.....

lets be real...even if he took the guy out in 3 youd all just say "well its gamboa so what".....

yup...later in the fight...you could def tell he was tired no question....because he had been firing off a bunch of power shots

he def needs to work on his conditioning....hed never been 12 before....probably was mentally prepared for it either as he prob figured hed have the guy out of there sooner

i dunno....like ive said....was it a good performance? eh...maybe...was it great? no certainly not

was it terrible? nah not even

try being reasonable....he didnt lose but maybe 1 round....
Yes he did look bad, relative to how he should have looked against that version of Gamboa. If Davis decided to fight a new fighter in their professional debut, then failing to take them out until the 12th and even losing a round or two would actually be a terrible result.

Winning almost every round doesn't mean it was an okay performance. It isn't as simple as that. His performance is taken in consideration of his level of opposition. It was a poor performance, and his stock went down as a result.

What is reasonable is looking at this fight as a great potential learning experience. Gamboa might be shot, but he has a lot of experience and this is something that Davis was just exposed to. Difficult fights can prove to be a breakthrough for some boxers.

Just look at Teofimo Lopez. Looked ordinary against his previous opponent - but obviously he learned from the challenges he faces - and he came back much stronger.

Reasonable is thinking Tank can do the same thing.

He had a one legged man stand in front of him for twelve ****ing rounds. Yes it was terrible lol. Gamboa even tried to quit and Reiss wouldn't allow it!

then Davis mentioned in the post fight he didn't notice Gamboa was injured? FOR TEN ****ING ROUNDS YOU DON'T NOTICE A LIMP?!?

I don't want to hear one ****ing word about his Ring IQ ever again.

I would have questioned the legitimacy of fighting him, sure. But if he would've dispatched him convincingly and early I would've at least said he's done something convincingly in a fashion that was expected of him.

He doesn't deserve any credit for the way he beat him, at all. It was dreadful.

so now youre comparing a pro debut to a 38 year old guy whos been around? lol...yes i understand relation.....but jesus...you guys act as if gamboa is a D level club fighter like jesse brinkley or marcos primera or something....hes not...even now

yeah...i agree though....tank could def use this is a learning experience...im sure he thought he would take the guy out sooner....and there are things he needs to clean up.....but youre talking about a kid who turned 25 last month ......

people are acting like the sky fell.....like he had to dig himself off the mat once or twice....like he got hit a ton....or couldnt put gamboa on the mat.....or like he didnt win 11 rounds
