It’s incredibly unprofessional, and why are we acting like this is a one time thing for him? At this point it’s an every time thing!

And he showed up late to the weigh in too.

Gervonta should fight whoever is offered between 135 and 147. Maybe he can start with Mikey at 140 first. Fight only meaningful fights, with name fighters, at whatever weight they wanna fight. We can have all fights at an agreed upon catchweight.

Target only these fighters: Mikey, Loma, Prograis, Lopez, Haney, Shakur, Garcia. Fight at any weight you can agree on.

Who gives a crap about belts.

Balitmore’s Davis will pay an undisclosed fine out of his seven-figure purse to the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission for failing to make weight on his first attempt. Part of that fine will be paid to Gamboa, a three-division champion from Cuba.

It is unprofessional imo. You make the other camp wait, whilst they did their proper work. Have to go back and restructure pay, ld’s, and fines. A lot goes into making some good fights happen, feelings and egos get bruised and then it sours future politics bc such and so isn’t reliable, etc..
Yes they make the weight- but a lot more bs transpires so that the sport can please the fans and people that help pay those “prizes”. If it’s an oz or 2, that’s one thing, but blatantly weighing a lb plus isn’t respectable.

If you are a real professional then you always make weight on your first attempt. The only excuse would be if there was an issue with the scale, but there obviously wasn't because Gamboa made weight just fine on his first try.
