Before Kovalev fought Canelo, he was ranked #1. Nobody said Kovalev was not a “legitimate” LHW. Everyone wanted Kova to unify with the other belt holders. It’s like saying “why should Bivol fight Kovalev, he should fight Beterbiev or Gvozdyk.” Yet everyone would still want Kova to fight anyone.

If you're the president of a boxing organization, it would seem like you would want to at least seem to be unbiased but it would be hard to find a more biased guy than Sulaiman.
