I think the poster should have said 'cherry-picked' based on age. He waited 5 years to fight Pacman, he fought a way past it De La Hoya (that fight was extremely close too) and a highly inexperienced Canelo, just off top of my head.

Kudos to Kyle for not naming Crawford.

Surprised that the biased BWAA writers are starting to finally swallow their pride & give the best fighter of his era his due. Anyone who doesn't think this list is fighter of the 2010s decade is biased because they don't have another name with a better list :

*Dominated & dropped Prime undefeated champ Trout for lineal, -Canelo was 22 then

Almost permanently blinded Angulo ref tko who is like if Floyd faced Margacheato at age 23,

*prime basically undefeated Lara who Canelo landed 80%+ of his punches to the body powershots Canelo- was 23,then he beat Cotto for the lineal mw title & supposed great mws like ggg have never won that & likely never will,

*he then faced Jacobs who was a lineal mw worthy opponent in his prime & career best moment coming off a huge win over Deryevanchenko,HE SCHOOLED JACOBS he outlanded him by twice the amount of both jabs & PowerShots combined in 8 separate rds of the fight(in other words he beat Jacobs by dominating him for 8 rds as clear as can be & the rest 50/50 rds),

Jacobs is much bigger physically with height reach advantage & had a weight advantage because he blew weigh in & fight was late at night, unlike the Jacobs Derev faced that had next day weigh in & took place much earlier after weigh in & this is why Canelo has realized the hype unlike most other fighters by actually beating the imagined opponent haters used to say Canelo couldn't dominate for at least 8 rds aka an elite champ in their prime much bigger than him with a weight advantage & who can move & crack equally well in jacobs,

This same writer always used to justify his loma bias by rating him higher based on supposedly those criteria compared to loma & Crawford blowing out C levels with multiple losses at lower weights even, Canelo then went up 2 divisions & faced a Kovalev who had recently did what just as I predicted beforehand AJ asskissers are worshipping him over in avenging a ko loss in immediate rematch by dominating every rd(unlike AJ kov didn't run)then kov followed it with destroying a young undefeated prime lion in Yarde who many picked to win.

Canelo is by far the fighter of the decade by consistently doing throughout his career what many others like Crawford have so far only talked about,Canelo facing Ggg/Jacobs then Kovalev back to is unlike anything floyd fought his entire career,so hes out of fotd running to canelo for that alone,Canelo has never played it completely safe,he fights winnable fights against the best more often than anyone this decade even fmj didn't risk nearly as much

              ————————-

If PAC was in his prime during the 5 year wait, how was he knocked out in 2012? Three years before he fought Floyd.

During that time PAC also got beat by Bradley, he had 2 catch weight fights and a depleted and weight drained Oscar at 147. Why not fight all those guys without any conditions of weight advantage? He was after all in his prime and could have destroyed Floyd so no need for all that.

As for Oscar, when should Floyd have fought him? In 2002 when Oscar was fighting at 147, Floyd was fighting at 130 so how was that fight supposed to happen?

Why didn’t PAC fight Floyd in 2006 when Floyd moved up to 147? Where was PAC hiding then?

If Canelo was inexperienced, how was he not able to beat Lara or GGG with all the experience that he got after getting beat by Floyd? Those were gift decisions he got and you know it.

Lastly, Canelo is the one that called out Floyd right after the Kermit Cintron fight. It’s on YouTube. He said he was ready and his promoter thought he was ready so why the backlash after?

Floyd wasn't in his prime either when he fought Manny, so the "he waited for Manny to get old" criticism is bs. Also Canelo was clamoring for the Floyd fight and he got his wish and by the way Mayweather wasn't a spring chicken when he fought Canelo.
