You must have just started watching the sport, there have been many B-C level guys that stopped an elite fighter .

You do know Manny was stopped by a can and hung on like a leech with another C grader that was a hair away from stopping him and the ref saved him from another KO loss.

For me, whether it's a decision victory or a KO victory, I'd ideally want to win as dominantly and by the largest margin as possible. This means, the gap between the number of punches I land on my opponent and the amount of damage I inflict on the opponent, relative to the amount of punches my opponent lands on me and the amount of damage they inflict on me, has to be as great as possible.

If I win a super close bout by decision when the fight could've gone either way, I wouldn't be fully satisfied. Likewise, if I won by knockout in a fight where me and my opponent landed equal or close to equal number of punches on each other and roughly inflicted equal amount of damage on each other, I also wouldn't be fully satisfied because then I wouldn't feel I totally separated myself as the superior boxer and I only won because of luck or chance.

If I do win by decision, then I'd want to win like how Pacquiao won against Margarito or how Rigondeaux beat Nonito Donaire. And if I do win by knockout, I'd want to win like how Lennox Lewis KO'd Hasim Rahman or how Mayweather stopped Arturo Gatti or how Wladimir Klitschko KO'ed Eddie Chambers. I'd want to win pretty much every round before I KO my opponent.

However, if I'm still forced to choose between the two options, then I'd pick winning dominantly via KO as more impressive than winning dominantly via decision. As the KO indicates greater damage inflicted = even more dominance displayed.

Not talking about Manny, not talking about Floyd.

Having a KO/TKO victory in boxing is the equivalent to a royal flush in poker. The most decisive/greatest form of victory in combat sports period, also much more difficult to achieve than a decision which can leave the fight up to bad judging/corruption, etc.

            Very perfectly stated.

Not to mention that folks don’t realize how difficult it is to get a KO/TKO victory over an opponent. It would imply your greater ring IQ, style adjustment, timing, reading your opponent, the set up for the KO punch, the high output of punches to accumulate the TKO, etc. It’s highly difficult to achieve. That’s why GGG Canelo fought twice and both times went to decision.

Yeh, I'd suggest you take very little heed from most folks here. They have very little to no sense of rationality, reasoning skills and even common sense.

I mean, it's clear as day that everything else being equal (in terms of number of punches taken and landed), actively seeking the stoppage and getting the stoppage would require a far greater skill-level than simply being content on waiting for the decision without putting in that extra effort to get the stoppage.

And folks here want to claim a win is a win, and that somehow that means every win is equally impressive?

Well, I'd just turn around and state that destruction is destruction and domination is domination too. You'd have to lack common sense and rudimentary reasoning skills to think that there aren't more impressive wins and less impressive wins.

A beatdown stoppage like Guillermo jones vs lebedev or fury vs chisora 2. The taller guy just outlanding out jabbing out countering their smaller opponent to a bludgeoning. Like fury vs hammer is always beautiful. Like wilder vs stiverne 1 or then you got the ultimate destruction like eubank vs dos Santos and wilder vs stiverne 2 they're beautiful. Destructions like you refer to. Haye vs maccaranelli Tyson vs Berbick or spinks. Complete physical destruction and domination is ultimate glory in the warriors code no? Like broner in his prime wrecking snall guys like v eloy perez he looked like a super hero like Prince naz in his prime , mentally and physically wrecking your opponent. But skill is greatly appreciated, mayweather vs mosley 2nd half of that fight that sort of domination i guess they all have their merits. Depends what you prefer but I don't believe when AJ says he wanted to go 12 rounds with Joseph Parker, I find it hard to believe guys who say they wanted to go 12 or drag out the humiliation for their opponent, like the aforementioned blowouts don't do that anyway. But maybe in some cases its true and they want to showcase their domination. It's interesting question and a beautiful brutal sport I love it.

Yeah it’s such a farce when a boxer says they’re gonna KO their opponent but then they go all 12 rounds instead. Happens all the time. They go the 12 rounds because they don’t have the capability to get the KO/TKO. So they avoid a fight and just try to win on points.

Styles make fights. KO artists usually end their careers losing by KO`s as well.

Not really. Most boxers end their careers losing by KO’s because they’re old and has been already still trying to get it in.
