If we accept those stats...Good assessment but with a caveat. Fury in the first fight only gave the appearance of landing many more punches than Wilder. By official CompuBox records Fury land 13 more punches in the entire fight than did Wilder. That's barely more than one punch per round. This to me means that we can be greatly influenced in our perception of how good a boxer is simply because they dance around even though they fail to truly engage their opponent.
... It's still not how boxing is scored. He might have landed one punch per round more on average. But he landed multiple punches per round more in those rounds he should have been given. Wilder's punch count is only bolstered by four rounds.
And it wasn't like he was being outlanded 25-23, which would be close. It was low numbers - how can they give Wilder a round where he lands half the shots Fury did?Comment

He might go for a jog, but that's not being in camp.
Andy Lee says January 1 will be the start. Tyson says January 10. Wilder says December 31st.
All sounds fishy to me. If this fight was certain, they'd be in camp now.Comment

And what rounds were those? There were only two rounds where Fury landed more than two more than Wilder. (rounds 3 & 10) There were also two rounds where Wilder landed more than two punches than Fury. (rounds 9 & 12)If we accept those stats...

Wilder also had the more meaningful punches, and threw about 100 more punches. Normally boxers are given credit for the quality of punches thrown, and aggression. Slaps and feints count for fans when you want them to.

There were plenty of rounds where he landed 2 more. 6-4, 5-3... Those shouldn't be hard rounds to score. They're not that fine margins. And what rounds were those? Usually I'd agree with you on punches thrown... but when the guy is being made to look ****** I think it should have the opposite effect on the scoring.Comment

Final punch stats, as Old Terry pointed out, were 84-71, which averages out to 7 for Fury, and 5.9 for Wilder. Basically one per round advantage for Fury. I don't think punch stats tell the whole story, but considering Wilder had two KD's and was the aggressor, those saying Fury won going away is down right false. There were plenty of rounds where he landed 2 more. 6-4, 5-3... With a different ref the fight would have been stopped in the 12th. Fury ducking Wilder for a whole year tells me a lot. Him looking like dog **** vs Wallin makes me think this fight will end up inside of 5. Wilder will jump on him early, because he won't want to be behind if the fight is stopped after 4 when the cut re-opens, and it most likely will.Comment

Looking silly is in the eye of the beholder. Now, honestly, there were rounds Fury just schooled him. But just as true was that Fury landed nothing of true value and was never the aggressor. So again... What are you looking for in a fighter? There were plenty of rounds where he landed 2 more. 6-4, 5-3... Those shouldn't be hard rounds to score. They're not that fine margins.
