Surprised its so close giving he has nothing but a punchers chance. Amazing how one punch can make everyone forget how awful he looked vs some cumbersome Japanese zombie that's defense was his face.

I don't see what is supposed to be so impressive about this kid just looks a ten a penny novice with sub-par reflexes that has watched one to many RJJ highlight reels to me.
People mention his amateur pedigree he doesn't look seasoned to me, 40 amateur fights? 50?
This fight will serve nothing as a humbling not just to Lopez but to those hyping him up.

Rather see Haney personally at least he has some good fundamentals, speed & length on him.

If Lopez would of fought Linares,Campbell and Crolla he would of KO’ed of those quicker than Lomochenko did. Maybe Campbell’s height gives Lopez fits but no way can those guys eat those counters Lopez lands.

Lopez is not a one trick pony, he lands those bombs which are precisely placed and not just wild punches. Lomochenko can’t take one of those punches or else he hits the deck. They showing Lopez no respect

Yeah but if you want to pick out individual fights or moments, then you could say if Lopez lands the shot Linares did, it could be lights out.

At the end of the day, Lopez has just stopped a legit world champ in a 50-50 fight and has looked impressive in pretty much every fight with one or two exceptions.

I do think Loma exposes his lack of experience but it’s still one of the very best fights that can be made in the division

Just like Canelo after he fought Floyd.

What exactly is Tank going to learn from crushing Gamboa?
Rushing fighters has hurt plenty careers, and no Loma isn’t the type with big power but it’s always risky throwing someone so young with such a more seasoned fighter...

Canelo is the exception not the rule, he’s been pro since he was 15....if you look at the rest of the p4p top 10 they weren’t fighting the elite when they first turned 25 either

i like loma...i really do...i respect him...hes supremely talented...but all of these guys have their day...face their day...he was acting a little smug that night in front of the cameras for lopez/commey....

lopez cant def land that big one on loma....as long as he doesnt get frustrated...im not sure lopez has the right head/mentality to not get frustrated.....think back to what fury was doing to wilder....by the 12th most guys would have packed it in...been too frustrated but wilder never lost focus and stayed his course...if lopez can do that without getting battered he can def land on loma and lopez has dynamite in that hand....

I'm pretty sure if Ward punched you 20 times in the nuts you wouldn't want to fight anymore as well.

I don't think it's about their balls, it's more about their promoters' egos and interests. Promoters see money first. Arum can make a lot of money inhouse with Loma-Lopez. Dealing with Floyd and Haymon is a whole another thing.

I don't believe for one second Davis is actually scared of Lomachenko. Never even considered that.

                To each their own.

I know he can crack, but it’s a different story when u fight the cream of the crop. Even if Lopez puts Loma down it will be a matter of keeping him down or still risk losing as far as I see it. Whatever happens I hope it promotes more fights like this. I didn’t see this coming.
Was the fight announced? Or just from what was said that night?

Lopez struggled in the fight prior to Commey. More than the scorecards indicated.

Just like Haney didn't exactly shine in his last fight.

For some fighters, that is the beginning of the end - they have shown their peak. For other fighters, it is just a learning experience, and they come back sharper and better for it.

Haney and Lopez being young and talented, it is reasonable to assume that they can make the most out of difficult fights, and learn a lot from them.

Hell, Loma lost his second fight, and look at how much he learnt from that lesson.

Lopez came back strongly from his previous struggle, and it can be assumed he would come back strongly after a loss to Loma.
