I think a fight like this is sum fresh air am I wrong? How often do we see a young guy with value fight an established star? -400 is closer than I woulda expected for opening. Hard to imagine Lopez getting a highlight reel KO vs Loma, which is what I think it would take to for him to win.

this fight would def be some fresh air

it was probably hard to imagine andre ward making kovalev basically quit too....but it happened....it was probably hard to imagine canelo, after the first fight, standing toe to toe with golovkin and beating him....but it happened

i like loma...i really do...i respect him...hes supremely talented...but all of these guys have their day...face their day...he was acting a little smug that night in front of the cameras for lopez/commey....

lopez cant def land that big one on loma....as long as he doesnt get frustrated...im not sure lopez has the right head/mentality to not get frustrated.....think back to what fury was doing to wilder....by the 12th most guys would have packed it in...been too frustrated but wilder never lost focus and stayed his course...if lopez can do that without getting battered he can def land on loma and lopez has dynamite in that hand....

The bigger , younger Lopez has more power. Loma has more experience, footwork, and overall ring IQ. Man, I hope this fight gets made!

Ive seen Loma lose. Still I like him more now that I’ve seen him rise over sum adversity. I agree he is smug, but no more arrogant than Lopez. I remember people calling Lopez all hype a few fights ago. I’m just stoked that they they’ve been contentious and that the fight is happening. I haven’t studied Lopez enough. I know he can crack, but it’s a different story when u fight the cream of the crop. Even if Lopez puts Loma down it will be a matter of keeping him down or still risk losing as far as I see it. Whatever happens I hope it promotes more fights like this. I didn’t see this coming.

I hate to say this is lining up to be like a "perfect" fight, but yeah it kinda is. Very young, strong talent coming up against an older, experienced and brilliant fighter. Lopez is young enough and Loma is old enough that it doesn't feel lopsided in either direction. It feels . . . uncertain . . . in an exciting kind of way?

Fair odds, though I would have started him around a -300 or -350 favorite.

But Lopez is certainly live and has a shot here.

I think we all expected Loma to open up as a huge favorite because Lopez is much younger and far less skilled.
