He was quite the talent, I'd say.

Good but not great would sum it up for me.

The Fighting Marine surely gets in. Dempsey too. Iron Mike probably doesn’t make the cut tbh.

His talent and potential would estimate him near GOAT level status but settled for ATG level even with his best body of work being past his prime Ironically!

In my eyes if Prime Iron Mike Tyson never went to jail and if Cus D’Amato never passed away during his prime or after I believe Mike would’ve retired undefeated!

Cus was the glue for everything, he was the key to harness and hone Mike’s capabilities and regulate him mentally!

He could’ve been GOAT level greatness but again, ATG level is where he stays which still is an amazing accomplishment!

I'm pretty much in agreement here.

He beat 8 of the 10 top ranked HWs of the year he became champion. Demolished most of them.

HE demolished a Larry Holmes that 4 years later went on to beat a Ray Mercer that gave Evander Holyfield hell.

George Foreman admitted recently that he wanted no piece of Mike Tyson when he was on Max Kellerman's show

Agreed. Mike had the ingredients to be great, but he fell off the wagon after getting sploshed by Buster Douglas. Don King not getting the rematch clause really fooked things up, but Tyson was already going off the rails by then anyway. Annoys me that we never got Tyson vs. Holyfield in the early 90s.
