Fact of the matter is, Holmes had something left, which is why he was a good fighter into the early '90s, who could beat a Ray Mercer and was never knocked out by anyone else, including a prime Evander Holyfield, Oliver McCall, or ButterbeanLast edited by The D3vil; 12-26-2019, 10:18 PM.Comment

Fought Spinks 4-19-86
Next fight, Tyson, 1-22-88 Age; south side of 39
Mike was 31
People say Holmes had a legit run after Tyson....Slow it down. He fought TWO credible opponents. Holy and Mercer. The other 30 or so guys he fought were pay the bills type fights.Comment

No.
Holyfield never even knocked him down.
And he almost beat Oliver McCall. Only lost by 1 point on 2 cards. McCall also never knocked Holmes down.
Fact is, even though Holmes fought into the 21st Century and old age, nobody wiped him out other than Tyson, periodtComment

Did those 2 other guys wipe Holmes out the way Tyson did?

I don’t even disagree with Bruno being stiff or not being able to take a shot etc but Haye did absolutely NOTHING at HW.
Bruno had a decent jab and legit power I think that’d be enough to deal with Haye.
Let’s not forget Bruno gave Lewis legitimate trouble and has a very solid win over McCall. Haye on the other hand just fought absolute no hopers and then cashed out vs Klitschko. Good cruiserweight but sh** HW.Comment
