Do you think it was a good stoppage or a bad stoppage?

It couldn’t arguably have been stopped after the second knockdown
At the very second it was stopped, it looked like he was in the motion of defending himself, but really it was inevitable he was going to go down againComment

It was a good stoppage. The kid fought his heart out but obviously he was fading, getting tired, probably hurt and had enough. Jermell smelled blood even though he was getting his ass kicked.
However, the most important thing is that he gets to fight another day. Besides, we've had more than our share of tragedies and deaths in the ring this year.
Tony is still young. He is only 29. He can bounce back from this defeat and become and even better fighter than he was before.
This fight was very of reminiscent of Leonard/Hearns I.Comment

I though Tony Harrison displayed a tremendous amount of championship heart and will by climbing off the canvas three times and taking the fight to Charlo while backing him up and beating him to the punch at will.
In addition, I personally, had him up huge on my unofficial scorecard by the time of the stoppage. However at the end of the day you don't want to ruin the kid's future or his career. He is only 29 years old.Comment

He was covered up, nothing was really landing. Bad stoppage.
Now if he stepped in before the second knock down it wouldn't have been. But he didn't, so can only go on what condition he was in when it was actually stopped.Comment

I was at the fight and your observation is spot on. Pedraza hung in there but was easily outclassed.Comment

It wasn't a great job by Reiss but Harrison was clearly gassed and took a lot of flush shots. The scoring from two of the judges is the real issue. Regardless of who you were rooting for Charlo did not seem to be three points ahead.Last edited by Alan Smithee; 12-22-2019, 02:26 PM.Comment
