Big ideas can get a person in trouble. Thread starter playing it safe.

The more popular guy should always win. He's popular for a reason

And why are decisions done so fast ??? Get social media involved in fights that go the distance.

What are the options or suggestions doe? Am not a fan of Judges knowing who they are judging before fights.

But how can we overhaul this ageing system? Am glad Charlo won by KO but if he had won on the cards without any KD in the 11/12th round then we would have had people screaming robbery today.

Maybe they shouldn't let a 75 year old man judge a boxing contest first of all.

There should also be VAR like in football/soccer. At the end of the round it would not be hard to amend things like knockdowns being incorrectly scored, or not being scored at all. People need to be held accountable for this chit. Cuts shouldn't be left to the ref to decide if it was a headclash or not, when you've got some guy sitting there watching it over and over in slow-mo from every angle, etc. But it won't happen because it's bad for business if they can't control the outcomes.

I have always thought that punch stats can be used.

                For example something like:

                Jab: 1 point
                Power shot: 3 points
                Knockdown: 10 points

Who ever gets the most points wins the round 10-9. If there is a margin of let's say 25 points or more, then it's 10-8.

If judges had access to replays and can check to make sure they tallied the punches correctly, it could work.

Well there would be no need for judge's. Only for a punch stat scorer for each fighter.

It also removes any subjective scoring. Nobody watches a basketball game and gives their opinion on which team is winning. There's an official scoring system and scoreboard.
