That said, that was a weird stoppage. Had the fight been stopped after the second knockdown, I would've agreed. But why let him get up just to stop the fight on punches that didn't land?

Anyway, can't wait for both of their next fights
You hit the nail on the head. That’s all I’m saying. Stop the fight after the 2nd BRUTAL knockdown if necessary. That was a hellacious knockdown. Thats the perfect time to wave it off. But once you let the guy get up, let him get dropped again a 3rd time. Don’t stop it when punches aren’t connected flush. Fights fans have seen throughout history fighters coming off the canvas twice to get through a round aka Diego Corrales.

Now do I think Harrison would have gotten through the round or the next round, probably not. But I think the ref sensed a BIG shot coming from Charlo and probably thought about the deaths in the ring recently in a split second. But if your thinking about endangering the fighter, stop the fight after that 2nd brutal knock down.

I think the showboating was meant to throw Charlo off. Harrison been bragging about living in Charlo's he's throughout the promotion.

It was meant to confuse, humiliate, and frustrate Charlo and cause him to fight recklessl Charlo showed his mental strength though and stuck to the game plan.

Yup. Reiss gave him a chance, but not really lol. It was weird. I never like him as a ref anyway, though.

Or maybe he can just hire you to ride his nuts, i'm sure you need the job

            • You idiots need to make up your minds. Reiss did a great job. Harrison was dead after the second knockdown he was down twice in the same round then Reiss gave him yet another chance and he was not answering back with anything.

I know a lot of you guys hate Charlo and would try to discredit his win but would you guys like it better if Harrison died? Most refs wouldn't even have let it go after that second knockdown but Reiss gave Harrison the benefit of the doubt and you punks still *****ing about a bad stoppage.

Can you guys please go away and leave my sport along

I think what the other poster means is that Charlo was a more well rounded and complete boxer in his younger days and seems to have abandoned everything he learned from shields since moving to Derick James.

A better solution would have been rather to intergrate both styles into each other to become an overall better and more adaptable fighter. Alternatively he could have chosen to alternate between the two styles depending on the situation and the opponent.

                • The hate for the Charlo twins is driving people to want to see Harrison never box again. Ridiculous. The stoppage was a good stoppage. Should have been done the 2nd knock down. We all know this.

He stood in the middle of the ring and held his own this time around. While I had Charlo ahead before the stoppage, I could see Harrison being ahead on anyone's scorecard. The fight was that close. Hey. Did anyone catch Lennox Lewis on the side sound bite pick up saying "come on" to the idiotic questions being asked by the female reporter. Who is she? She was biased and terrible.
That female reporter needs to get fired she was pretty ******ed with some of her questions during the press conferences, too.

                    • Harrison looked (to me) like a skeleton in the weighin so no surprise his punch resistance would falter towards the end. I can't recall how bad he looked during the first weighin. Nonetheless, well done to Charlo. I didn't think he lost the first fight, but I also didn't score it nor rewatch it. This must be very satisfying for Charlo.
