Do you find Crawford's stance on the Porter fight strange?

You can say both sides have to agree to fight each other but even you look at it the choice is up to Crawford. We all know Porter will fight anybody anywhere. And Kenny Porter is has been calling for the fight since the Spence fight ended. Shawn is going to do what his father wants. Shawn doesn't want to throw Crawford under the bus so he's being diplomatic. Arum has said he's willing to make that fight. Everybody is waiting on Crawford.

Porter has plenty of options at welterweight. Crawford has none. It's strange that Crawford hasn't made that call to Shawn and he doesn't want to talk about that fight. Even his loud mouth manager BoMac won't talk about it.

I said this to a few people immediately after those words came out of Crawford's mouth. You're asked about fighting a top 5 welterweight, with PBC, that would further prove your prowess and status as an elite welter, and you basically say "I'm not looking to make that fight right now". With how limited your options are (which is practically zero) with PBC fighters, why would he be so picky? He's acting as if he's in the driver seat. The entire boxing world he clearly is not.

He has to ask himself if he's okay with spiraling into irrelevancy (*as it pertains to 147 if he doesn't fight any top 5 welters) or if he's okay with Top Rank bringing up fighters from 140 for the remainder of his career. At some point in time, he has to take accountability and get back SOME control of his career. He re-signed with Top Rank until 2021 knowing PBC would NOT be easy/almost impossible to come by. So we'll see what he decides next.

I would really hate to see such a talent spiral into irrelevancy like that.

After all the complaining he has done about everybody ducking him I find it strange indeed. Here is his chance to fight one of the 4 or 5 best welterweights in the world. He should jump on it. If he can beat Porter by a bigger amount than Spence did that's a good statement. Of course it is a tough fight with risks but that comes with the territory.

Porter has had the same stance on this fight: they both have been saying that they are "friends" and that they would have to decide themselves if they want to fight each other. Like any boxing fan, I ain't with the "buddy buddy" thing but they both have been consistent regarding one another.

Nope. Why would he fight a gatekeeper like Porter. Pacquiao, Spence or who cares?

Crawford's shook of porter. Thats why he resigned with top rank where careers go to duck. If he was truly about that life hed want to blast out Spences best win to show him how you win without controversy whatsoever but I been knowing & saying for years Crawford gots nothing on Spence & knows hes very vulnerable(especially after mean machine made him look slightly above average) so will keep saying hes ducked & waiting to cashout vs Spence while blasting out top rank cans indefinitely so if he does lose him & his fans will say hes old now doe

It's more strange that Porter the challenger in this situation isnt the one calling for the fight. Crawford will make his money regardless. Who can porter fight next in the next 4 months that will bring anything to the table. He already beat Danny and Ugas and Kieth and Spence are hurt. Why is his dad speaking for him asking for the fight and not himself. As mean a dude as Crawford is does anyone really think he would back down if Porter called him on national TV.

Gatekeeper that only lost to Spence due to a knee on the canvas. And it could arguably be seen that Porter beat Spence despite that. Gatekeeper? Crawford dont want that smoke.
