That is NOT true. Everyone will remember his 2nd round TKO of Roy. That was huge regardless if he was in his prime or not. He had a very close and arguable decision against a fighter who almost everyone claims is the best of this generation and then whooped him in the second round of their rematch. That will be remembered. No one expected that to happen and it was the first time Roy was hurt like that.

Of course being destroyed by B-Hop will be remembered, it was an amazing accomplishment for Hopkins, but he's done more in the sport than just get his ass kicked that night.

You need to watch the fight up til the kayo..besides Roy did get up before the count, but Nady stopped it. So I guess a whipping is when a fighter throws a punch with their eyes closed?

Roy did beat the count, but the first time he tried to get up he stumbled. He also didn't react at all when the fight was stopped. Are you suggesting he could've continued to fight? You must be, since apparently "getting hit by a punch thrown with his eyes closed" is not enough to do damage. You told me to watch the fight again, but I saw it when it happened and a few times after that, and If I remember correctly, Tarver only flinched for a second and it was because Roy threw a left that grazed the right side of Antonio's face. However, before this happened, Antonio was already winding up the punch, he brought his LONG arm WAY back and hit Roy perfectly, Roy's head and arm went out of the ****in' ring. THAT my friend, is getting whooped.

I'm talking about you saying he was whooping Jones, but it isnt that apparent, until he does get hit. Roy would've got destroyed after being rocked like he did.

He didnt get whooped, he landed a lucky shot.
But, the important thing is, he landed it, and thats all that matters.

Tarver is to Jones, as Douglas is to Tyson. Yes Tarver will be known as the guy who beat Roy Jones, but that's all he will be known for.

It's exactly what you said. The style is what enabled Jones to get beat. If Jones fought textbook I doubt he'd even have a single legitimate loss.

Why is it that whenever a fighter gives an explanation, that it's turned into an excuss. What are they supposed to say when asked why they lost?

Tarver just should have replied "I am a crackhead whiny ass ***** that just got my ass kicked by Bernard Hopkins."

That's very true. Besides it's evident enough when someone loses by their performance. If they intentionally let themselves get kayoed then you can ask that question..
