                I have a feeling jr wasn't sure if he would be cleared to fight so took the brakes off training the last few weeks perhaps.

                                Jacobs agreed to the clauses, set up rosado as a fill in, just in preparation for this eventuality. Smart business move to get money off the a side, but Chavez is who we thought he was.

                                    I think u nailed it. This is prize fighting. Is there any other reason than money for Jacobs to fight Junior? He’s an easy target and brings in more money than a more dangerous opponent could. Heck Nelo fought him. Jacobs doesn’t care if JR doesn’t make weight, he wants the fight to go on no matter what. I’m surprised this fight even got this far, and it barely did. I saw Junior fight live once, and it let me see Senior in person, so yeah that’s how it works. Most offspring of champion race horses never amounted to anything either, but they still got attention. Sum people say Jacobs beat GGG and Nelo so people will keep a jaundiced eye on this fight just in case.
