Fighting and beating Whyte would make Joshua the next obvious choice that everyone would scream for. But Wilder doesn't really want that, because he's not sure he can beat either man. Remember him in late 2018 saying that he will unify the titles in 2019? Well, it's about to be 2020 & Wilder is only calling out Fury.

I don't see how having a fight with Fury means he can't fight Joshua. That's just dumbassery from a dumbass.

Another year without the undisputed fight we all want thanks to Wilder. Somehow some clowns will try to blame Joshua for it though.
He's unifying the WBC and Ring with Fury. Try being less ******.

Well he's a fighting a better guy then Joshua, the number or 2 in the division, the number 3 can wait he will get his shot if he doesn't lose his belts in the meantime to Usyk which he probably will let's be honest here, seems to me by the time Joshua completed his mandatories the 3rd fight will have taken place so i can happen assuming he doesn't loose to Usyk which he once again probably will

Tyson Fury> Anthony Joshua and Fury>>Whyte in every single independent ranking.

To claim Wilder is "ducking" a lower or much lower opponent and fighting a higher-rated opponent and the most skilled HW today is simply saying you're brain-dead and not having any mental faculty, or shameless and pretending your arguments to be true, or both.

Why is Wilder fighting Fury and not Joshua?

Because Wilder's team ****ing tried it back in 2018..when Eddie (the arrogant) Hearn told them he was the A-side, when he told them they had to come over to the UK, when he told them he will give them a flat fee (and not 50-50), when he told them the rematch will only be one-sided, when he told them that AJ wants $50m but moved on to Povetkin when he was offered that. Team Wilder then decided they will build their own profile and chose their own path. Even the DAZN offer was not that of equals.

Heck, even Hearn acknowledged that Wilder's profile and percentage today will be much higher than it was back then...that they were right and the fight is much bigger now than it was then. But Eddie's bots on the internet are still stuck with their primitive mindset.

Which is why Wilder's team is fighting Fury instead. Carving their own future and saying FU to Eddie until he comes to his senses and negotiates as equals not "A-side dictation". Besides, whoever of Wilder or Fury wins will hold the most prestigious rank in the eyes of the boxing world. They will also have the WBC belt, the Ring magazine belt, and the Lineal HW championship title. The only prestigious belt missing would be the WBA.

                      Will Wilder/Fury vs Joshua happen?

For sure. Whoever wins can and will unify but with his profile much higher. A 50-50 will be a no brainer and the fight an even bigger fight. Both Wilder and Fury are betting on themselves, sacrificing a payday today in the hope of an even bigger payday if they win. And both believe it is them that will win and go for the mega-fight.
