Josh Taylor is actually a refreshing candidate. Would be nice to see him win because brings some freshness too. He’s only fought twice this year though and the latter being only a majority decision

He should be, I mean none of those guys' opponents come close to the world class, PPV-drawing, big money opponent that Crawford just beat after getting off the floor.

Can’t go wrong with Canelo or Pacquiao.

I say Canelo though. Broner brings Pacquiao down a notch. If Pacquiao would’ve beat any other former World Champ then I’d say he deserves Fighter Of The Year. Broner just kills it for me.

I'd have to go with Canelo.

Canelo's victory over Kovalev is equivalent to Roy Jones, Jr win over John Ruiz. Both men were garbage. One was very limited skill wise while the other was well past his prime.

Alvarez gets no special award for that Kovalev fight because he knew Sergey was a low risk, cherry picked, washed up and shot fighter that was going to be an easy win. The coward would have never challenged the pre Andre Ward Sergey Kovalev.

I wouldn't be mad at any of them, besides taylor maybe. I mean it gets really subjective - just depends on how highly you think of their opponents and performances. Canelo has the strongest case for achievement, clean wins, but this can be very interchangeable. Inoue/Pac for 2nd...

Canelo or Pacquiao. Will probably be Canelo.

ruiz win over joshua qualifies only as upset of the year.it has very little historical significance and will quickly be forgotten by many boxing historians a couple of years from now.

pacquiao created history 4 times this year.

no one comes close this year. that's plain truth.

It'll come down to Manny and Canelo. But it's nice to see that they also acknowledged Josh Taylor.

Not disagreeing with anything you've posted about the accomplishment in beating Thurman. However, Ruiz is lesser than Manny and AJ was greater than Thurman. Ruiz also became the first Mexican HWT champ in history. The Ruiz win also created much more buzz than the Manny win.

Its definitely close but I think a monumental historic win at HWT trumps one at WW.
