There was only a small window (2015 to be exact) where a Wlad-Wilder fight was a realistic possibility. Any earlier than that and Wilder would have been viewed as too green (he had knocked out a bunch of no-hopers as he essentially learned on the job). Deontay won the WBC title and then Wlad lost to Fury later that year. Wlad went for the Fury rematch and never got it due to Tyson's well-documented issues out of the ring. After that, Wlad went after Anthony Joshua and probably made a lot more than he would have made fighting Wilder at that time. Lastly, all of that happened before Wilder faced Luis Ortiz and most people saw Ortiz as Wilder's first elite opponent.

So wilder needs to lose to an unranked late replacement, then rematch the guy to reach the greatness level of Joshua I guess..He beat old Ortiz but he was still one year younger then Wlad so i guess he needs to find a 41 year old coming off of a loss and a layoff then challenge him..GET DROPPED IN THE PROCESS..but later comeback to win.....LET ME GET HAYMON ON THE PHONE

The little fat guy was a unified HW champion. That's a bigger achievement than Wilder's lonely WBC title. FACTS.
Exactly, and Ruiz was coming off the biggest win of his life. To this day I still have no idea why the Stiverne rematch even happened.

OP is lying, Wlad did not say he is coming out of retirement.

He lost to an unranked, fat late replacement....and since Joshua was ranked high FOR BEATING JOSHUA ruiz got a high ranking..RUIZ HAS LITERALLY DONE ANYTHING BUT BEAT JOSHUA.....

Beating Joshua is better than anything Wilder has done. FACTS.

I know it’s fake news because Wlad wouldn’t waste time chasing a ghost , he would go after a far easier fight to make in AJ .Funny though the Wilder crazies panicked hard on here , don’t worry guys it’s one less guy capable of defeating Wilder not targeting him if he indeed does .

Actually, Ruiz was ranked in the Ring Magazine top 10 in 2016 and 2017 before dropping out of the rankings due to inactivity. He also had a debatable loss to Joseph Parker in a fight that could have gone either way. Those are facts and the idea that he was just a fat bum who arrived out of nowhere is a lie that people keep repeating as if it's true.
