    Korobrov’s Year

I am looking to here some unbiased opinions. In my opinion Matt Korobrov has had a rough damn year. Wins a fight, goes to dressing room to find out that it’s a draw. Had a damn good fight with Jermall, which honestly if a Charlo should’ve lost that night I feel like Jermell did enough to get the W and Mall could’ve lost or drew his fight.
Then Korobov vs Eubank Jr pops off. Just into the second round and he looks like he messed up his shoulder or arm.
I don’t really believe that Korobovs character shows that he would’ve tried to get out of that fight.
    What do you guys think?
I know some have had far worse years, but that’s some crap for that dude.

If he can mend his shoulder healthily and keep a strong mindset to perform better, then he may have a good next year

yeah for every GGG there are literally thousands of soviet fighters who just bums out in the pros having peaked in the amateurs. boxing is a brutal sport.

these prize fighters are like strippers. it's brutal but it's true.

Goddamn it... I just wrote like a 400 word extempore account of Matveys career up and downs with analysis and had the thing fkn wiped cos the Scene logged me out for some reason.

Anyway in brief. Superb talent, poor chin, nervous issues, fought tense leading to bad stamina, sorted it, finally got shot with Lee, blew it. Wilderness years. New start as 'opponent' under Haymon. Impresses everyone. Maybe robbed against Jermall. Probably robbed against Aleem, looked great against Eubank for a round. Fucks shoulder. Probably end of the road. Probably gonna be haunted by blowing his one shot against Lee forever. One of 'em 'what if' stories.

Was he trying to get out of the fight? Not a damn thing about his career or the fight itself gives me any reason to think that whatsoever. Just feel real real sorry for the dude.

Unlucky year for Korobov. He deserved a draw or a W against Charlo and he was beating Eubank Jr. like a woman beater before injuring his shoulder.

Hopefully he heals up and has a good comeback rematch fight against Eubank.

Koba, either you’re a copy cat(lol) Or we shall say great minds think alike.

Possibly the unluckiest fighter in the sport over the past 12 months.

I’m not sure there’s a road back for him now as well.

                  It’s a shame cause he’s a talented fighter.

Great point. That Lee fight must really haunt him. All his career momentum completely vanished after Lee landed that right hook in the 6th round.

On a side note though, I was an big Andy Lee fan so was screaming at the TV when Lee timed him with that hook.
