Javier Fortuna officially has his marching orders for his next title fight. The former two-division titlists from Dominican Republic has been ordered by the World Boxing Council (WBC) to begin negotiations for a vacant lightweight title fight versus England's Luke Campbell. The two sides will have until January 3, 2020 to come to terms, or else the bout will be subject to a purse bid hearing.

haymon needs to grab this fight so javier doesnt have to go to the U.K. where he will get cheated. Then we can get a unification fight between tank and fortuna

Why do fighters become champion (Davis) or get a chance for a championship by fighting Cuellar. His not good.

That would not be possible simply because the organizations do not allow unifications with the WBA ''Regular'' belt. Tank would not be the real WBA champion, just the ''regular'' beltholder, so not the real world title & therefore unable to unify. To unify the WBC & WBA belts, the WBC titlist would need to face the real WBA World Champion which is Lomachenko.

Naoya Inuoe was unified IBF and WBA (Regular) champion until he beat Donaire. There's no rule saying that you can't unify a Regular belt with another belt.

No he wasn't. He won the WBA ''Regular'' belt vs. McDonnell, defended it against Payano, then when he got the fight against IBF champ Rodriguez in the WBSS semi final, he vacated the WBA ''Regular'' belt. He then won the IBF belt over Rodriguez, then won the WBA ''Super'' belt vs Donaire in the final to unify the IBF & WBA belts.

Naoya Inoue strengthened his grip on the bantamweight division with a crushing two-round victory over Emmanuel Rodriguez in their world title unification fight Saturday.

The Japanese boxer, known as "The Monster" and No. 7 in ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings, floored the Puerto Rican Rodriguez three times on his way to winning the World Boxing Super Series semifinal.

Inoue (18-0, 16 KOs), 26, made a second defense of the WBA world bantamweight title while capturing the IBF belt from Rodriguez, who was making a second defense at the SSE Hydro.

Inoue will face American-Filipino Nonito Donaire (39-5, 25 KOs), the WBA's "super" world champion, in the final of the eight-man elimination tournament at an undetermined date later this year.
Naoya Inoue floored Emmanuel Rodriguez three times on his way to winning the WBSS bantamweight semifinal Saturday in Scotland. He'll take on Nonito Donaire next.

He walked out with both belts and both organizations sanctioned the fight.
