  • There are 7 world heavyweight titles right now.

With Dillian Whyte reinstated, we are back up to there being 7 world heavyweight titles.

WBC World Heavyweight Champion: Deontay Wilder
WBA World Heavyweight Champion: Manuel Charr
IBF World Heavyweight Champion: Anthony Joshua
WBO World Heavyweight Champion: Anthony Joshua
Interim WBC World Heavyweight Champion: Dillian Whyte
Super WBA World Heavyweight Champion: Anthony Joshua
Interim WBA World Heavyweight Champion: Trevor Bryan

In theory, Charr will fight Bryan in 2020 to eliminate the interim WBA title, although they could always go crown another interim champion.

I highly doubt we will see a WBA vs. Super WBA fight any time soon.

The soonest we'll see interim WBC vs. WBC is 2021.

Joshua won't be fighting Wilder or Fury in 2020 as they'll be fighting each other.

So how long do you guys think it'll take until we're back down to a reasonable amount of world heavyweight titles? 2022? longer?

When AJ (if he manages to beat usyk and pulev) fights the winner of Wilder/Fury. All those other "titles" do NOT matter as the winner of AJ vs Wilder/Fury WILL be considered the ONLY champ that counts and is recognized.

Keeps getting delayed for two reasons.

#1 - Don King struggling to finalize the logistics and finances of his "Rumble in the Jungle 2" event in the Congo, for which Charr-Bryan would be the main event.

#2 - Fres Oquendo is suing to stop the fight.

Joshua owns four. Wilder owns one.

Simple fact is nobody cares about any of the paper belts.

This is a great example of how brainwashed Joshua fans are.

Nobody considers the IBO a recognized world championship. None of the recognized sanctioning bodies. None of the major television networks. None of the major promoters.

But the UK fans are so obsessed that they'll believe anything and pretend anything is true.

no, the boxing public is not required to recognize every clown who throws up his hand

the WBA junior titles are purely a result of ******ity and corruption

MANY boxing journalists refuse to recognize the WBA junior bullshlt, including a number who write for this very site

same with the WBC interim rubbish

there are still only 4 official sanctioning bodies, which is 3 too many

You know the vast majority of fans, pundits and publications only recognise 4 of the above titleholders to be genuine World Champions. I have to assume you have some purpose is this little piece of misdirection but I really can't figure out what it would be.

It's not trying to devalue the fact that Joshua holds 3 of the 4 most widely recognised titles or something silly like that is it?
