... So you are sitting at home one night watching TV with your father... maybe even watching a fight. Partway through the fight you both fall asleep, he on the couch and you in the chair that sits maybe seven feet from the front door to your house. The house is pitch black except for the illumination from the TV. All of a sudden there is a loud noise that instantly pulls you from your sleep and as you literally jump up out of the chair your attention is drawn to your left where a person you can't even see has burst into the house right through the front door... it is a woman and she is babbling incoherently, sounding almost like a cave woman or something. Instantly, in the midst of your grogginess, you realize that the woman is your girlfriend and you instantly feel a rush of fear... why is he running into your house at this hour of the night (close to midnight) babbling like she is... you start yelling her name until your attention is diverted to the right, towards your front door, where you hear several men out on your front porch and it is instantly clear that they are attempting to come in your house after her!!! You are yelling at her "Rita! What's going on???? What's happening?!?" Your whole body is tingling the whole time with those chills you get up and down your back when you are shocked or scared without warning. Still in a semi-daze you rush to the front door without waiting for her answer and hurl your body into it, trying to stop these guys from coming into your house and -from what you are thinking- kill your girlfriend!! Maybe they are trying to **** her? Maybe they are trying to kill her, maybe she saw something and they want her quieted? WHO KNOWS AT THAT POINT, RIGHT?? So you are literally fearing for your life now because you are pushing on the door trying to close it and these guys are pushing back trying to come in. Your father is up now and he is yelling, he just woke up, and he is trying to figure it all out, too. Meanwhile your wife has rushed to the back door of the house and is trying to get out but it is dark and she can't figure out how to get out so she turns back around towards you.... You are trying to get the door shut and as you battle these guys you are thinking they might be able to power their way in and if they do you assume they have guns or some other weapons. You imagine and brace yourself for the fact that you will have to smash as many of them as you can on their way in, hopefully you knock one or two of them out before they get you. That will at least give Rita and your father time to get out of the house through some other door. You are pushing and pushing, trying to hold on to your balance as you plan for them to get through and you will have to hit them as hard as you can as many times as you can. You remember thiking how all your punches are going to be aimed right for their chins. You are pushing and pushing with all your might, yelling something at them that you now cannot even recall, when suddenly you feel the door slam and it hits you all at once that you have overpowered them and gotten the door shut... instantly you reach down and flip the lock so they will have to literally bust the door down if they want to get in now. You turn around and head towards Rita who is coming back towards you through the kitchen, still babbling loudly and in a serious rush.. it is obvious she is TERRIFIED and wants to get out of there as soon as she can..... you still are seriously wondering what is going on and you plan to grab her and calm her down so you can find out before these guys outside at midnight in the dark decided to smash through the front door and finish what they started. You rush towards your girl and are almost up on her - she is rushing back towards you when her face is suddenly and briefly visible through the darkness by way of the light from the street light coming through the picture window...... as soon as you see her face there is just one thought that pops into your head....and it sends even more chills flooding up and down your spine....
