Joshua would never be accepted in America. DAZN can use his name to try and generate more subs due to his global name but because he isn’t American I doubt he would cross over, Americans don’t even follow their own HW champion and you think they would follow a foreigner?

His market is Europe,Asia , africa, mid-east etc that’s more than enough to last him until the end of his career, can you imagine him fighting in Nigeria?

You would have British Nigerians/American Nigerians etc flying to that country to watch him fight. Africans in within that continent would be flying to Nigeria to watch him fight, he might not even be able to walk around in Nigeria without being mobbed.

Joshua did an interview in the UK papers in the last day or two where he stated one of his main wishes was to fight in Nigeria, but it was couched as a 'long term plan', with immediate plans to do the Usyk/Pulev mandatories, which sounded like being UK, and a unification with Wilder/Fury amybe at the end of next year.

Its been 'next year' for a few years now......

To become international, he has to come to America a few more times. It's like Bollywood...the top actors are known by 1B Indians but are still not a popular as Brad Pitt who never made a bolly film.
ok so why is PPV dead and boxing now relegated to a B side sport in the USA ? Lol. And why is your heavyweight champion unable to break into big numbers when it’s PPV ? You have illusions of grandeur son

Dude...I'm not American. The point I'm making is that without the American media pushing you, you won't really make it internationally. For that to happen, you have to fight in America. However DAZN may change that, but I guarantee you, Joshua will never be as popular as Mayweather, DeLaHoya, Tyson or Sugar Ray if he fights in Saudi when most people can't see it on tv because of the time difference or in the UK as well.

America for the most part is existing in its own bubble, Joshua does not need america but? I just thought it would be a good idea to tackle the american market in that manner 'Take over a venue, and make it his home' fight all american challengers.

If Joshua was to fight in Nigeria it would be a impressive spectacle 'More so than his last fight, because as you have just pointed out? The African's would mob him, like a African king'

From a promoters point of view, there are probably a lot of things you could do with that sort of event 'It could be more than a fight, it could become a festival/coronation. Joshua has reached a level now in his career, where it is not just about fighting & winning in a stadium in England' because of his global REACH as you have highlighted.

Bored of the stadium fights in the UK, I am over it 'I get it, he can fill out a stadium' but Match-room needs to carry on branching out and challenging themselves.

Based on the number vs Ruiz, and a probably year of build up before AJ vs Wilder gets the go ahead, I can see the numbers being comparable. Chuck in some inflation and it tips over into new territory.

There is soo much potential for these guys to transcend into mainstream and plenty of time to do it. HW’s is the division that really gets the public attention...soo all I am saying is don’t be surprised.

except its not. wilders 2 ppv flops prove that. conventional wisdom is not always right.

Well, we'll soon find out wont we? We'll see how his fight with Pulev turns out.. Will the UK fans really be behind him again or will they have given up on him after his KO loss and subpar redemption performance? I'm speaking from a general public standpoint. Fury doesn't draw with a subpar name and Wilder only sells a decent amount.

My guess is they'll still fill stadiums for the guy.. but I dont think the American public is interested in him.
