I think Andy’s ideal weight would be 245-250. We’ve seen how Ariza transformed Maidana. Ruiz should get a strength and conditioning coach like Ariza that will help him drop the weight while increasing explosiveness. It’s a shame he had 6 months to prepare for the rematch that changed his life and chose to take it for granted. Where should Andy take it from here? Here are my thoughts:

    1. Get a good strength and conditioning coach. Perhaps Alex Ariza?
    2. Fight someone like Adam Kownacki or Chris Arreola.
    3. Get the rematch or go after Wilder.

No where. No shame in losing to the GREAT Anthony Joshua. Did you see that flawless boxing clinic??

Not a man dead or alive that could have won against the new improved version of AJ. He can do it all. Wow

Those were some great skills he demonstrated and the way he spoke after the victory was a class act. However, Ruiz was very disrespectful to the sport, lying and saying he was ready to then come out 15 pounds heavier. Being a champion is a lifestyle and I know Joshua understands this aspect of the game. It takes tremendous discipline to stay focused.

Not sure Andy would tough it out
Also who knows the next time he gets another crack at someone up there
            He really did screw himself

He's unlikely to ever get "in shape". Will always be short for the division. Everyone wants to make Mike Tyson comparisons, but how many Mike Tysons have there been? Andy should just be wise with his money, take a few more fights, and consider himself an over-achiever. He accomplished something pretty great. It's not like he has anything to hang his head about.

I cant see him doing much for rest of career. He couldn't even keep himself motivated for 3 or so months for the rematch, if he couldnt motivate himself for a fight of that magnitude then what else would motivate him? I wouldnt be shocked if he retires relatively soon .

He would quit boxing if he added Ariza. Ariza doesn't play when it comes to strength and conditioning. You see how Maidana quit on him

Ditch His trainer . Ruiz doesnt respect him enough and would be better of with someone like eddy reynoso Who is very strict

All he needs to do is Be in better shape meaning losing weight Had he been 20 pounds lighter he would easily knocked out joshua

I thought Joshua Had a terrible performance but his Jab and run from the Fat guy strategy worked because ruizs fat ass got caught up in the overnight fame

Does ruiz have the discipline to get it together after an embarrasing night ? We shall see Its the first time hes ever been soundly beat on the scorecards
