He surely wouldn’t be that ******. Overlooking who? On what basis? Stop the excuses ad admit you lost to a better man.

This is why I support Wilder. He always trains hard and respects the game. Before Wilder to me was a whatever fighter. Didn’t like him and I didn’t hate him. It was just whatever with me. And then someone posted on Instagram a video of Wilder in the gym, a week after his bicep surgery, with one glove on working the mitts. I said to myself that’s a fighter I can get behind because win or lose he’s going to be prepared.

Well that was quick! Ruiz got brought back down to earth and humbled. He just screwed himself out of millions of dollars.

F that fat *****!! I don't want to see him fight anymore. Why the hell would he think it would be the same AJ. Ignorant *****!! To succeed in this sport, you have to stay hungry for this sport and not for food.

I understand we all make mistakes but losing in this manner is damn near unforgivable Andy. And the signs were clear as day. The house the cars and the constant yapping and social media presence. This was very embarrassing. You had 6 months.... SIX. Sort yourself out. AJ did a fine job just the same. He exploited his opponent's weakness and was supremely humble and disciplined.. Great win by the champ!

                      Bit of human nature here.

I think in the first fight, he expected to lose. He was fighting the unified champ, a much taller man, with an incredible physique, who he expected to be the best HW in the world and he thought he would lose, but it was an impossible opportunity to turn down. So he took the fight, even thinking he'd lose.

Then on fight night, he gets hit with a great shot in the third, gets back up and then takes the champ to pieces. And at the end of thinks... not only did I win, but that was actually pretty easy. He wasn't anywhere near as good as I thought and if I just box like I always box, I'll beat him again.

And then human nature takes over. Overestimating his opponent in the first fight plus the unlikely outcome, led to an adjustment in thinking which unfortunately was underestimating the opponent leading up to the second fight. With the highs of being newly-crowned HW champ and a clear tendency to indulge in food, it was a disastrous combination for Ruiz.
