  • Comments Thread For: Ruiz: I Looked Past Joshua; Thought It Would Same As June 1st

Andy Ruiz Jr. took Anthony Joshua lightly. Yes, you read that correctly. Among the things Ruiz admitted in the aftermath of his loss to Joshua in their immediate rematch was that he "looked past" Joshua. After flooring Joshua four times on his way to a stunning seventh-round stoppage in their first fight, Ruiz figured something similar inevitably would happen when they met again at Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

He also had everyone at PBC telling him he would win easily and that Joshua was just a British hype job with no heart or real boxing ability. Even Wilder was giving interviews saying the same thing and phoning Ruiz to start planning their unification match.

Ruiz did not care about this fight, boxing for 20+ years and he's eating pizza's a day before the fight...now there's something wrong there. A guy who does not care about losing before his biggest fight of his life?! Hearn did well

            LMAO at excuses.

The so-called better boxer who has been boxing since he was 7 with an amateur record of 105-5 got outboxed, beaten and bruised by the so-called robot. LMAO.

All these excuses, man. He gained more weight for power since he didn't seem to gas out. If he never trained - he would've gassed out. Ruiz never moves his feet and weight had nothing to do with it. Even if he were to slim down to 260 - he'd still be the same plodder with fast hands. He was lucky the first time he hit a lotto with a perfect lucky punch. He'd beat most heavies including Wilder - Josh is just a level above the guy. Respect the champ.

Is there any heavy who shuts down and completely outboxes other heavies whenever he decides to box?

AJ vs Parker - one sided shutdown 10-2
AJ vs Takam - one sided shutdown 10-0
Aj vs Ruiz - one sided shutdown 11-1

This fat piece of shet Ruiz needs to just shut the fucc up already!
He's a fuccing disgrace to the Mexican people!
Hope AJ doesn't give Ruiz a rematch till he earns it! This fat fucc needs to beat a couple of good quality opponents before he gets a rematch with AJ or a fight with Wilder.

Surely it was plain to see AJ had given Ruiz zero respect in June as a late replacement and was also far from his best on the night.for Ruiz to think that he would not go away and come back in a different frame of mind and with a completely different game plan is borderline negligence on his part and he deserved the schooling he got for it.

Still some good fights out there for Ruiz but not sure he ever gets another shot at the title.
