I gained a little, because for the past couple months he's been talking about how to come back from a loss, that a loss doesn't define you, and how he's been putting in work and focused on the task at hand.

Everything he said he proved. So I gained respect for that.

All andy ruiz did was apologize. That sorry ****. He's still an exceptionally talented fighter who can fight at the highest levels if he puts in the work. But that's been his story since the beginning.

I already respected him as a fighter. The only one I lost respect for was Ruiz. Dude didn't take the fight seriously and just thought he'd be fortunate enough to catch AJ again coming in. I hope he isn't given a 3rd fight

        Respect gained or respect lost?

        gained respect

taking a immediate rematch was the first/biggest hurdle - check

many advised against it, including at least 2 GREAT fighters

showed more to his game - check

everyone said Ruiz was the better boxer with the faster hands

        chin - check

perhaps protected more than tested, but he definitely ate some leather

        stamina - check

a good performance in what must have been a tense situation

ability to stick to the gameplan for 12 - check

he stuck in there... believed in himself and believed in his team

        props to AJ

AJ is a beast, but many of his fans are utter tools... I will keep trying to like him

          that was a excellent performance

but I wanna hear more Golovkin fans criticize AJ for running in a rematch, and not fighting like a champion

I gained a lot of respect for Anthony Joshua after last night's performance. As long as he stays off the sauce, then he should do just fine. In my judgement, he doesn't need it. He proved that he fights much better without it.

I agree. He trained better and fought smarter but he fought extremely carefully and took as few risks as possible and still get the win. Right before the fight he promised a KO win and nothing less. He lied and never once tried for a KO or a knock down. I can't respect that. His rival Wilder never has to promise a KO. We all know he will go for a KO win and he will get one almost every fight. It was a dull fight with less than 600 punches thrown by both men combined.

Supposed to be the exciting HW era but Klitschko fights were more entertaining than that

Never seen a big man fighting scared like that vs a short fat guy

I have more respect for his game now, he showed people that he could make some changes in abort amount of time.
Besides that, he easily won 9 rounds, and I mean 9 clear rounds with no way to give them to Ruiz, and probably 3 really close rounds that you could give to anyone. To me that's impressive in it's own.

Gained respect for his discipline. Was hoping he would do more to KO Ruiz though.

Was really sick of seeing this wannabe Mexican Cali-born and raised fatso parade himself in his sombrero.
