Pre-Ruiz Joshua had no chance, but this version definitely gives him a fight. Gained a lot of respect from me and possibly even a fan.

    Go Joshua
I had similar thoughts...good post...I feel like he was much less robotic tonight...and similarly I feel this version of him could and perhaps should beat Wilder, and I have never felt that way before.

Of course with Wilder (and AJ's chin) all he needs is one punch...so who knows...but I agree, this version of AJ would be better than anything else AJ has shown so far, vs Wilder.

Aj is it NOT beating wilder no matter what. He’s too slow. It’s the heavy weight version of Thurman vs garcia.

Wilder isn’t a 300lbs bowling ball that has to get close to land punches.

Wilder’s range is still going to give him chances. It’s not like AJ was using unorthodox angles or anything. He was just keeping it long because he could but that’s not as easy against wilder
Wilder's right hand is a seeking missile, followed up by his rabid animal like finishing when he smells blood. Recipe for disaster for AJ

His only chance is to get rid of Wilder early, except, Wilder is not dumb, he's not exactly a boxer... but that right hand always, always lands at least once

This, agree fully. He'll be finish sooner than Ortiz if he does.

I feel like he might want to actually close the distance with Wilder. He's too stiff to start outside at the end of Wilder's power and AJ prefers to throw hooks and be mid-range. He just needs to tighten his defense before ultimately taking that fight.

If Wilder let's himself go and came in at 280 then maybe AJ was still going back in straight line he won't have a reach advantage in that fight

He's obviously the superior boxer but I don't think he can take Wilder's power.

Anybody can look mobile against a tub of lard. Wilder KO within 5.

He fought better and moved better but I still think Wilder knocks him out. Ruiz was fatter than before and only threw 250 punches all fight making AJ's job easier. Wilder will throw twice that many punches. He can't use a reach advantage on Wilder because wiWilder has the reach advantage and probably the speed advantage and Wilder has a long fast hard jab and of course his famous straight right. AJ might win rounds but I think his chin can't handle Wilder's power and he will be KOed like all the others but Fury who almost got KOed.
