You mean when Ruiz was pushing down and punching Joshua's kidneys? Yeah that would have helped Ruiz.

When the taller fighter is nonstop sticking and moving, and the ref breaks them up right away when the shorter fighter has a chance to do some damage,

there's almost nothing the shorter fighter can do.

realistically put yourself in ruiz's shoes... the taller guy is using his reach to hit you where you can't reach him, and then when you can reach him, he grabs you and then the ref breaks it up within 5 seconds and then you're back out of reach.

Realistically, what would you do? How do you win that fight?

No, he outboxed Ruiz but in a mediocre style as even through TV set it smelt how much he was afraid. It is not the style of a true HW champ. As I said before, both fighters are overrated.

Running is a legit part of boxing.

But I don't think that's exactly what happened. That was a fighter using every advantage to outscore his opponent.

As I said on another thread, he landed more shots, cleaner shots, more effective shots, he imposed the style he wanted on the fight.

It could hardly have been a more dominant performance.

that is because Ruiz had faster hands/counters

that was a excellent gameplan... and AJ fought Ruiz off him when he needed to

                Run? No

Cautious? Yeah and rightly so. He had to be.

Perfect performance to beat Ruiz. I don’t think he can implement that style against other fighters but so what, it’s what he needed tonight.

No, it was his most effective shot other than the jab. He immediately cut Ruiz with it at the start. It was no more risky than the left hooks he threw which hit air. He just didn't want to throw it much.

He reminds me a lot of Wlad Klitschko. Another giant who didn't seem to know his own strength, and almost always ended up knocking his opponent into another realm when he finally let the right hand go. Usually because Emanuel yelled at him to throw it.

                    I saw a typical high-level boxing match

Joshua was wisely respectful of Ruiz faster hook

he learned from the first fight, and he stuck to the gameplan

technique, gameplan, stamina, chin, mental fortitude... AJ ticked a few boxes tonight

                    very good win

True it was pathetic I agree but how does that make a HW “champ” look if he fought like a scared little girl agianst that out of shape fat boy lol
