I’m not a Joshua fan and many people on this forum aren’t. We are just giving him credit for fighting the right fight to save his career for now, that’s all. Just because we are being objective doesn’t make any of us Joshua fans. I’m from the US not the UK. I was rooting for Andy Ruiz. That is why your all up in your feelings. Grow up and give Joshua credit LOL!!!!!

AJ gets credit for winning and getting his belts back. But how much credit do you give someone for beating RUIZ?

and the fight unfolded exactly how I predicted... although I thought AJ may have to pick himself up off the canvas at some point... but I knew that he would/could dig deep

here is the thing, the Ruiz/Joshua saga... Ruiz surprising the still-developing Joshua, and Joshua making the right adjustments to come back... are exactly what should happen as a fighter develops into a genuine contender>champion

these guys are winning titles WAY too soon... like I said when my boy Parker (I am a kiwi) and Joshua first won their titles... "neither of them are ready to defend against all comers"... but Joshua was further-along than Parker

people who criticize Wilder for how long it took him to step up, are the ******est casual-fans imaginable... they literally know nothing about this sport

Ruiz isnt even CLOSE to AJs best win. An said he was going to KO ruiz. Had No intentions of even coming foward ONCE i seen some good boxing fdomw AJ. This was as bad as Mayweather vs berto . but i sure Floyd showed great boxing then too

I seen AJ have good performances. Running, jabbing, clinching IS NOT A GOOD performance.

Ruiz isnt even close to AJs best win, YET aj fought scared. Unwilling to engage or even take ONE step forward.

Joshua did not behave like a champion on June 1st

but, he behaved like a champion ever since June 2nd... including tonight

props to both guys

it may seem like Ruiz was a little disappointing tonight, but...

1) if the first fight had unfolded like the rematch... NOBODY would have been surprised

2) if any other fighter with the physical disadvantages that Ruiz had heading into the fight, took that same loss tonight... NOBODY would have been surprised

1) they took Ruiz lightly - AJ was NOT mentally prepared for that fight
2) they fought the wrong gameplan

Mayweather/Canelo, and even other very-good/excellent fighters who are not on that level... use a different style/gameplan depending on the opponent... and guys like Mayweather/Canelo, will adapt/change their style/gameplan as the fight unfolds

so why is it unreasonable to expect AJ/Team Joshua to do the same?

EXACTLY......and the same fans who still don’t give Wilder credit for getting rid of Breazeale in 1 round, knocking out Ortiz, not once but twice, and dropping Fury twice in their bout but Wilder is still a bum that hasn’t fought anyone right, LOL? I don’t get some of these so called boxing fans. And Ruiz dropped Joshua 4 times in the first fight and all of a sudden, he is a bum tonight, LOL.

But unlike you, I was a little leery of this fight for Joshua, but like you said, Joshua fought a solid technical boxing match, I have to give him credit for that. He executed tonight and proved A LOT of people wrong. So I see Joshua differently now. He is capable of making the necessary adjustments to win a fight to keep his career moving forward. And he did it in neutral territory. It’s a business too.

Boxing fans have to admit. The great thing about tonight is now we get to debate about how Joshua will fare in the ring against the likes of Wilder or Fury, win or lose. Joshua can box and he has power. Now those fights are back on the table. I just want to see the top fighters in each division fight each other and may the best man and best strategy win. But I don’t want to see a 3rd Ruiz & Joshua fight because Joshua’s team knows now how to beat Ruiz, keep the distance, jab, box, and tie up Ruiz when necessary. Another fighter, Joshua may take more risks, STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Joshua needed to just secure a win, get the belts back, mission accomplished today. It’s not always about how pretty or how devastating it looks. And it’s not like Joshua fought that way his entire career. Keep it in perspective.

I have always liked Joshua, he is a beast... but I think of him as a better fighter now, than I did before the first Ruiz fight

any top fighter who keeps ticking those boxes is doing ok by me

he actually ticked a lot of boxes tonight, and it is highly unlikely that he will ever overlook another opponent
