I think people are forgetting that Ruiz isn't a volume fighter and he tired pretty badly in the Parker fight. 10+lbs isn't likely to make much difference to a dude that size, 5% up or down won't impact his gameplan. He punches with AJ and hopes to land the clubbing left hand over the top. He's actually quite similar to Chisora with a different hand and he just has much faster hands.

Off topic but i'd love to see Ruiz vs Chisora, that would be a proper war!

Guess I'll have to be trashed for saying I'm old school, but it matters little to me. There's a limit to everything, and IMO Ruiz will find out the hard way he's made a bad choice. As for Joshua being lighter, it would be a problem if he lost that 10 lbs fast. But spreading it out over 5-6 months won't be an issue. Plus he's had a lot more time to study Ruiz, and have Ruiz style sparring partners on hand. No guarantees for either man, but it looks like to me that Joshua is more prepared than his foe. Very tough fight for either man, but Joshua should weather the storm this time and come out on top.

peddling around the ring and cuddling Ruiz rest of the time.

AJ wanted none of Ruiz the entire night. The fear in AJ's eyes was real.

When a guy comes in at 284 pounds... you don't stand in front of him.

And you missed the time AJ spent hitting him. He might have moved, but he did plenty of punching too. More than Wilder threw against Fury or Ortiz.

At the top level - you don't stand and trade. None of the top three do that - they just all have different ways of staying away from their opponent.

Josh was 3 stone lighter. He can run 100 metres in 11 seconds. There was no use being 20 stone. To absorb punches better? If you was lighter you'd not take as many punches as you'd have energy to avoid them. And don't underestimate your natural toughness that doesn't depend on your weight.
How can you land body punches when your too slow to get to josh?

...a fighters weight, their conditioning, has a direct impact on their ability to execute the tactics and gameplan. Do y'all even know about how athletics work?

Oh I get it, you wanted Joshua to fight Ruiz fight to give Ruiz the best chance of winning because he came into the ring as a fat F and couldn't move.

As oppose to Joshua fight his fight meaning staying out of range of the faster hand Ruiz and jabbing him to death and coming into range to pop him with the occasional right hand, only to step right back out of range before the tub of lard slow feet could make up ground...thus giving Joshua the best chance of winning.

Yes, I see your point. 😉
