I hope this isn't the case but this was the same exact path buster Douglas took after beating Tyson. Got complacent, ate too much and got sparked.

LOL...dude you can't be serious, you are trying to spin this.
Ruiz is FAT and the last I checked unless he's a mutant, Ruiz is a human being with cardio and weighting 283 lbs thinking you can go 36 minutes throwing fast combinations and pressuring a fighter hitting and running from you won't affect your cardio is nonsense.
Ruiz is going to get tired and once the running Joshua realizes this, he'll stand his ground and tee off on him.Comment

It is my opinion and I'm sure most others would agree that Wlad was unlucky not to have the extra legs to finish AJ off, but once AJ got that second win I couldn't see anything but a win for him. If Ruiz doesn't get the job done early, then I see an 8th or 9th round stoppage for AJ.Comment

So he ate 15 pounds of food in 6 hours? Ruiz has a better chance at this weight. Ruiz will take AJ's punches even better and Ruiz throws with good form he will be putting all that weight into his punches. AJ will never have faster hands or better boxing skills than Ruiz no matter how light he is. AJ only benefits if he is planning on running from Ruiz and stealing a decision. This fight has almost flipped from the first when AJ was the feared puncher.Comment

I don't know, that's a lot of weight. Ruiz has got stamina, it's just a question of can he fight at the quick pace he needs to for this rematch. He'll want to lean all of that weight onto Joshua and tire him out. Hopefully Ruiz is still hungry, no pun intended, to win again, and hasn't just felt well, he's getting another good payday, and take the money and enjoy life with the family.
Anthony has actually handled this loss with as much professionalism and grace as one could imagine. Hadn't made any excuses, kept his team in tact, gave credit to his opponent. I never was a fan of the guy, but I have to give it up to him in this instance.
Wilder still smashes him though.Comment

Ruiz does not have a better chance being 15 lbs fatter. His fighting style (fast hands, pressuring, throwing in combination) requires good cardio and 6' tall man weighing 283 lbs fighting a man (who is 10 lbs lighter) who will HIT and RUN against you doesn't stand a chance, he will gas!
Joshua has a game plan, beat Ruiz to the punch and run, repeat and rinse until Ruiz tires in the later rounds and unless the laws of physics stop applying to Ruiz, he will eventually gas fighting with that style being in this condition.
Once Joshua realizes that Ruiz is grasping for air, Joshua will stand his ground and tee off on him.Comment

We will find out tomorrow if he can do it.
He definitely has to make Ruiz pay big for coming in because you know Ruiz is going all bulldozer on him .Comment

I thought this fight could go either way with Ruiz having the psychological edge and AJ having the obvious physical advantage.
But now forget it! If AJ trained hard and is focus no way he loses! If he can't beat Ruiz he needs to retire! Getting fatter will NOT help him win!Comment

Anybody that believes any of this BS I got some swamp land to sell ya. This is why I NEVER get excited about broke fat heavys, and that's what Ruiz was before AJ fight. No surprise AT ALL that a guy with dedication probs would have more after making some money. Shades of Douglas v Holy. That being said he still has a chance to win if AJ don't show the mental strength he will still might need unless he pulls a Douglas style laydown(I don't think he will though). Also AJ better protect that shaky chin early and fight long. It should be easier with Ruiz's weight.Last edited by john l; 12-06-2019, 06:27 PM.Comment
