But work = force x distance
He has to generate more force to maintain the same acceleration for all that extra fat mass, using your own contention.
Therefore, he has to burn more energy for the same motions.
Over a short fight, Ruiz's extra mass may not hinder him. But if the fight goes long, I simply cannot see how it does not drag.Comment

I'm very sceptical of a heavweight coming in weight drained. Why the fk would any HW ever do that?Comment

Just crazy nonsense from people
No it don’t fughin happen
Damn right but , and big but the man does not look anything his weight suggests
I think he might gain some advantage from all this chit
I still believe he’s going to walk through AJ
The man can’t take a punch ( forget that crap about the fughin temple ) and he can’t fight off his back footComment

Good post, but you actually can train punch resistance, but to a limited degree of course. Apparently training your neck muscles a certain way and doing "jaw excercises" can help with punch resistance, but of course if you're already packing lots of glass then you can only improve it to a certain degree, you'll never have for example a "granite" chin.He beat Ruiz to the punch in the first fight, and it didn't matter. He needs to stay focused after he gets Ruiz in trouble, now that he knows that Ruiz has faster hands that will hurt him if he gets caught. Also, despite being massively outweighed, Joshua tired much faster than Ruiz did, and never got his legs back after being hit. You can't train punch resistance, but maybe he improved his cardio.
Also force of will and heart play a part in it, Joshua doesn't get one punch knocked out, he just gets hurt badly, so his will to survive and will to win plays a certain part in it.
Having said that, after the way he survived against Klitschko and given that he was still trying to fight back against Ruiz, I don't think will is an issue more than it is his stamina. Now that he has his weight lifting addiction under control, let's see if I will translate to more stamina.Comment
