To take a good shot, you need to be fat

Notice how Ruiz took Joshua’s best shots, when no one had really done that before?

Or how Fury took Wilder’s best shots, when no one done that before or since?

    I THINK IT’S THE FAT.

Even Ortiz did better against Wilder’s best shots when he was fatter.

I am just now realizing, to take a good shot from a powerful heavyweight, you need to be fat. I think I read once that the Breadman said this is related somehow to insulating the brain from moving around too much when the head is hit.

All I know is, if I was going to go fight Wilder or another hard hitter I wouldn’t try to lose weight and slim down “for speed” because we know good hitters will catch you anyway. Instead, I would bulk up, lift weights, do neck weights, and put on a decent amount of fat and aim to take shots well and hit back harder!

Be interesting to hear any actual scientific information regarding this. If and how body fat affects resistance to knockouts

Maybe, but Ruiz and Fury exist in this weird paradox where they are grotesquely fat by most standards but in supreme condition to fight for rounds and rounds.
