Why are folks so focused on fighter purses and ppv buys?

That's where the argument goes when someones favorite fighter gets whooped.

A lot of poor people(even middle class) like to live vicariously through the wealthy as a hobby. Throw human tribalism into the mix and you get a boxing forum full of morons. "He is (insert race) just like me so that makes his accomplishments my accomplishments". Wiki has a decent article on Tribalism give it a read.

Folks with no prospects, little money, far too invested in their worshipping of the fighter they like, exhibit chick tendencies, and spend their entire time talking about purses, a side, and what a fighter they hate won’t do while their worship of the other guy makes me see them as lacking flaws.

Im sure its some weirdo pride thing with soem of em but to ignore the money invovled is just willingly turning a blind eye to why some fights are harder to make than others.

Its called the Mayweather effect. He basically created the term "A side", screamed about how much he gets/got paid and how many ppv's he sold. Now that he's gone, the vacuum was created and any and all fighters followed that lead, along with their fanbois. I can almost guarantee that if Mayweather comes back in 2020 as he's claiming he will do, he WILL regurgitate those same sentences and so will his fanbois.

So why wouldn't the knowledgeable fans discuss these things knowing that they affect what fighters demand and the possibility of fights been made...

"I made 5m to fight that guy, I want at least 10m to fight that guy who is more dangerous"

"I sold X amount of PPV more than this guy, I'm not taking less than 60%"

..... Its not a difficult concept to grasp, I just find it weird that suddenly mainly PBC fans want to prevent and police people from talking about these things when for years they used it as justification for their favourite fighters to make outrageous demands or even reject fights.
Its their massive double standards along with short memories. A Spence fan was telling me Spence was going to collect the belts in house and then for Crawford and his belt last cuz with all those belts Spence is for sure the A side. I said fine but wouldnt that make Joshua the A side over Wilder already seeing as he already had those belts. He didnt replay.

Rick Glaser is a untrustworthy lying scum bag and his numbers are to be instantly dismissed when it comes to Wilders numbers but when he reported GGG doing low numbers the same people were telling me Glaser is legit, an insider so its as good as fact.

I could go on. There are so many double standards in their argument its hard to keep up.

A lot of people who beleive they're middle class arent even middle class or close to it.

If you're income isnt at least 50k you arent middle class. That's not even lower middle class. Me and my wife pull in just over 100k and let me tell you that despite being like 85 percentile plus for income in the US we are lower middle class.

Nearly everyone in US is poor but they're too dumb or too proud to admit it.

Crazy how people live vicariously through people eh? Those people are the weakest ones. Too pathetic to live their own life. Need to live it through people they dont even KNOW.
