Did you consider AJs legs were gone because Ruiz started hammering his body, hard in the 6th round? Why at the start of the 7th was AJ able to hit Ruiz with another monster hook that stunned him a split second? Didn't look out of it then? Ruiz caught him at the same time and he was stunned and Ruiz finished him.

AJ got an amazing combo off in the 3rd. Ruiz got up and got blasted with a straight. Most fighters would be done by then. Why wouldn't he go for the knockout? Worked the 20 times before. Drives me nuts people saying he rushed it.... Did you ever say that before on any of AJs knockouts... Oh I hurt him I'll step back and jab it out for 12.

Remember it's Joshua Vs Ruiz not Joshua Vs Parker and Ruiz Vs Parker. Both fighters have changed and Andy won't let him dance around. Can't wait for Saturday!
    I totally agree

Also if people do wanna bring the Parker fight into it to compare tactics, let’s not forget that the ref was a big part of AJ keeping it long because the ref wouldn’t let Parker near him. Without that ref, AJ wouldn’t have been able to use them tactics for 12 rounds with ease.

But anyway, Ruiz is not Parker. He’s a very different fighter. Also people forget Ruiz has been the shorter man all his life, so it’s not going to anything new when it comes to fighting taller fighters keeping it long. I’d imagine Ruiz is comfortable with that because he’s always the shorter guy. He’s used to it. People are forgetting this.

AJ needs to leave McCracken...he asked him what shot to look out for and McCracken said jab and right hand...and Ruiz clips him with a left hook...mcracken is not a good trainer maybe in the Olympics...but not pro...

McCracken was giving sound advice in the corner from what I remember, but Joshua was not listening as the comment you quoted he trying to get AJ to use the 1-2 all fight. He'd already answered what shot caught him twice. He got you with a hook when you loaded up your own hook. If you hurt him, don't look for power look to box. AJ didn't listen and AJ got hurt everytime he threw short punches.

If Ruiz decides to stay safe and box, AJ has the height and reach advantage and also the power to annoy Ruiz with jabs.

Ruiz has only one option...fight a Mike Tyson/Joe Frazier fight up and close, trade inside, go for the body (including thundering liver shots), uppercuts and gazelle hooks. He will get hit a few times but his fast hands and combinations will bring nightmares to Joshua in that ring. Ruiz has the experience and could/should fight differently to surprise AJ and throw his preparations out the window.

Joshua, on the other hand, will have to fight an Ali style fight...come in close enough, jab jab, right hand...and out of the exchange to a safer distance. Footwork and movement in the ring will be key. Finding escape routes before trading.

If Ruiz lets Joshua dictate the distance and pace of the fight, he will lose for sure.

I agree with the recipes for both fighters. It comes down to which one can execute them better. I think Joshuas foot speed will be a bit quicker, as will Ruiz handspeed. I feel like Joshua does not have good enough footwork to stay on the outside for 12 rounds. He will tire much sooner as his current footwork has him using too much energy and too many steps.

Ruiz should be able to cut off the ring and move in on Joshua while bobbing behind his guard and then double jab in. Joshua can escape him early but his instincts seem that of a brawler/boxer puncher and i think by the 5th round Joshua and Ruiz will be exchanging like last fight! Hope the ref is at least decent about things. I would have loved Michael Griffin again but I'm sure Hearns says no way!
