You attack your opponents weaknesses. AJs weakness is his chin. Ruiz should seek to make AJ feel that this fight is just a continuation of the first. He can't let him get comfortable or in a rhythm. AJ needs to feel like he is in control. Ruiz has to show him that he is not....early.

Agree but what I'm trying t say is that Andy knows that he has the ability to bounce back if he somehow gets hurt or kd by AJ. Andy is more stronger mentally now and he knows that he has AJ's number.

LOL, i get what you are saying. But Ruiz looked OK when he got up and even took an even better looking shot before he went on to brutalise Joshua.

Every time Joshua got up, he looked out of it, legs gone, out of breath and not fighting back. There was a massive difference to the outcome of the KD's, and if i was a Joshua fan this would worry me the most, every time Ruiz landed, it did damage.

Unless Joshua ends this early which i doubt happens but at HW this is always a possibility, Ruiz will break him down round by round and a similar outcome to the first happens, Ruiz might get a cleaner T/KO this time but ether way he wins by stoppage.

Before the first fight I was reading hundreds of comments here saying AJ/Ruiz was a mismatch and a cherry pick by AJ/Hearn. I disagreed with that strongly, and after Wilder KO'd Breazeale, I gave my opinion that if AJ tried to compete with Wilder by getting a quick highlight reel KO win over Andy in his US debut, that would be big mistake on his part.

That turned out to be exactly what happened, and AJ paid the price of trying to blast out a guy he should have handled with respect and caution. He won't make that mistake again, and coming in lighter, it's clear he's going to try and box his way to victory this time.

I think AJ will be ahead on points by the half way stage, and Andy will then come on strong late, telling himself he stopped this guy once already, so he can do it again.

That's when I believe the questions around AJ's mentality and confidence will be answered. If he hasn't recovered mentally from the first fight, he'll crumble and get stopped again. If he stays strong and focused, and his stamina holds out, he'll make it to the final bell and it will go to the judges.

I have a feeling that AJ is going to lose the last 3 or 4 rounds, but win the fight on points, and it's going to be a controversial decision, with Andy and his fans screaming robbery. But that's only a gut feeling, and I certainly won't be putting any money on it!

This is close to how I see it going. Box and move. But it's all up in the air, anything could happen, big question marks over AJ's mentality when under pressure.

For what it's worth, AJ seems hungry and more focussed, and dare I say it, more humble than before. So I hope this translates to a tightly-executed game plan. With so many physical advantages, AJ should be able to pull it off. The only issue is the mindset. I really think he quit in the last fight, which could be a huge stumbling block for him if it does go late and Ruiz is piling on

AJ sounds like a man that understands what went wrong in the first fight.

The irony is that he has to change, stylistically, to pre-Povetkin Joshua (except now he's vastly more experienced). He has not been the Ring General he is capable of being since.

If AJ understands and implements the condition of him being the one to dictate the fight, he dominates Ruiz. Andy's best offense against AJ were those rapid fire combinations moving forward, if AJ dictates the fight, he'll see those coming a mile away and catch him in between shots. People can talk about his chin all they want, but if he fights that way he's supposed to, Andy will never hit him clean.

I'll still support Ruiz whatever happens, I know he'll put up a hell of a fight.

Let's face it, if AJ can keep it at range it will be very difficult for Andy. Physical advantages are real. I think it will be a good fight. But alot of people will trash Ruiz if it means denying Joshua credit, so disproportionate the hate on here is now.

Joshua will NEVER be able to box like Lewis. Never. He's far too stiff, slow footed, predictable and doesn't have the ring IQ.
He never throws any unexpected shots like Lewis did.

Tactically its hes best bet. He does have power and reach, although hes jab and overall ability doesn't compare to Lennox. But if he can keep it long he can win this. Ruiz threw well to the body but got tied up at times in fight one.Joshua can hurt him,but shouldnt try to exchange combinations, thats suicide. He can pot shot though. Hes physical advantage is there.

There's a good possibility that this is the way it could go, but im a little more confident that AJ can get it right this time. He stood in close and traded combinations, he wont do that this time Without a head full of cobwebs i think he'll box a clear decision win this time. Hes gonna hold like Wlad when Andy gets close. With all hes advantages at range, its hes to lose. I always thought he looked better lighter, much better on hes feet. One things for sure,if he wins in good fashion, Ruiz will be branded a bum and forgotten unfortunately, because hes a hell of a fighter.
