Inoue vs donaire should have been a ko

Just rewatched the whole fight, and I will say that donaire gave inoue hell. But when looking at the fight, inoue hit donaire to the liver with 1:54 left in the 11th round, and donaire turned his back and ran away from 1:53-1:50 and finally dropped at 1:49. He didn't get off his knee until 1:35 which is a 14 second down. Why was this allowed, and why didn't inoue's people try to contest this?

Doesn't matter how many seconds it took. However you can clearly see the ref hold out both hands indicating the count of 10 so there's that.

What do you mean it doesn't matter how many seconds it took? The official rules of boxing say that a fighter has 10 seconds to get up from a down, not till the count of 10. After that fury vs Wilder fight, people were bringing out stopwatches to see of fury actually got up in the 10 seconds.

No it's a 10 count that the ref picks up from the time keeper. Only clowns break out the stopwatch to try and prove anything.

By no means am I trying to take away from Donaire's performance just simply stating what I saw upon re-watching it. I didn't even notice it originally, partly due to excitement and partly due to it being 5 am... but still great ****ing fight.

When the ref counted 10 Donaire wasn't even up yet, not to mention the ref pushed Inoue away from going in for the finish before Donaire even went down...

But the right man won so idc

OP is right, we all want to give Donaire credit and applaud him for his perdormance and heart, but that should have been a KO win for Inoue.
