Comments Thread For: Michael Hunter: "This is My Big Shot" vs. Alexander Povetkin

Ask and you shall receive. Heavyweight contender Michael Hunter called out Alexander Povetkin immediately after dropping and decisioning previously unbeaten Sergey Kuzmin in September. The bold remark immediately got Matchroom Boxing head Eddie Hearn's attention, who hammered out a deal to pit Povetkin against Hunter on Saturday as the co-feature to the Andy Ruiz versus Anthony Joshua rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Even though I will be rooting for Povetkin, You have to respect Hunter for being polite and respectful to Povetkin.

Really great fight for both guys.

Hunter has a good chance on this one. I think he wins it. Great matchup!

Respect to both guys especially to Povetkin for not going up against a semi retired opponent dug from the grave.....Chazz Witherspoon, Rydell Booker,Alex Leapai etc etc !

Respect to both fights, but I have to go with Povetkin on this one. Too much experience for the young gun. Hunter's going to eventually get a title shot... but IMO Alexander isn't ready to give up the ghost just yet. But this will be just as interesting a fight as the main event will be.

I like Hunter alot and he comes off as a really grounded and likable person. I will be pulling for him to beat Povetkin and I think he can!

Hunter is so underrated in my opinion. He has great boxing skills and can punch too. He’s in his prime so he should outbox Povetkin for a 116-112 decision
