Comments Thread For: Lewis: Hearn Should've Brought Joshua-Ruiz Rematch To England

LAS VEGAS Lennox Lewis realizes there were glaring financial factors that enticed Eddie Hearn to bring the Anthony Joshua-Andy Ruiz Jr. rematch to Saudi Arabia. The former heavyweight champion can't help but think, though, that Joshua would've been better served by boxing Ruiz in England this time around. Lewis feels Joshua was out of sorts when Ruiz upset him six months ago in part because Joshua fought outside the United Kingdom for the first time that night.

Lewis is right. After the way Joshua was beaten he needs every advantage and the UK would give him at least one.
This is just a money grab by the Hearns who obviously have little confidence in a AJ victory.
Good luck to AJ but I see a similar result this time around

He's only jealous of the the UK fanbase's embrace of AJ that he didn't receive. From a skills, accomplishment, or place in boxing history standpoint, no way. Nothing to be jealous of there. If by some miracle, AJ jabs and clinches to a boring decision win against Ruiz, he'll get KO'ed by Wilder and have his ears boxed off by Fury. So when the dust clears where will he stand on the list of all-time HW champs? Without getting in to specific ranking numbers... answer: he'll be way, way down the list from Lewis.

The scandal there is UKAD trying to stitch up another UK fighter for saying things they didn't like. If not for VADA, they would probably have gotten away with it.

That has no relevance to Ruiz
