A couple of pertinent points here.

First and foremost (as others have mentioned) Bud is the one that made this bed. He could have formed his own promotional company or signed an extension with TR that didn't include a deal with ESPN. The same way AJ isn't signed to DAZN yet has fights on there is how Bud should have went.

Second, I think folks are not understanding what Haymon does. He doesn't "forbid" fighters from doing anything. He simply treats them exceptionally well, pays them above and beyond their contracted purses (several boxers have mentioned this), and advises them outside of the ring as well as in it. He cultivates relationships, does financial planning and investment. His guys become set for life even without a mega-fight.

Why would any fighter do anything to remotely jeopardize such a relationship?

He doesn't have to "hold them back". They willingly listen to his advise...because he delivers.

"If the Wba honors it's own rules". I think it's pretty obvious at this point that the sanctioning bodies are making this **** up as they go along. They'll honor their own rules if the bribe is right- just like the rest of the sanctioning bodies.

There should only be one belt in each weight class for each sanctioning body with the exception maybe being the emeritus title.

Pretty soon they'll be a Wba Super Duper champion and a WBC Neon Bright Green champion. What a F---ing joke....
