Arum PPV numbers are close to what I heard originally.

So IF Arum or a rival guy comes out and says it did a certain amount, I still wouldn't necessarily believe that...they all lie for a living, and I think they all have a vested interest in saying PPVs are doing well at all, so they can all keep putting them on since that is where they make their money.

What do you expect Arum to say? "Yeah it flopped, PPVs are dead, only sold 120k". I think they are all more or less in cahoots to prop the numbers up to make them look better than they are.

I just don't see where all the buys would come from...if someone has some data to show me all of that, I reserve the right to change my mind...but someone just coming out and saying 'here's the number' won't do it for PPVs right now, for any fighter, predominantly when the number is out of whack with my expectations.
I would expect Arum, the rival promoter to downplay the ppv's success like he's always done.

And I don't believe Joshua is getting paid more than $50 million for the Ruiz rematch. I need to see some paystubs or checks.
I also don't believe that the unemployment numbers are so low. I need Trump to show me some data for it.

I haven't heard that about AJ...I would find that su****ious as well.

They do have all types of data for employment numbers, but I would agree that a lot of that is still smoke and mirrors...the way they report unemployment is really wacky imo.

Not to get too technical but the number that is commonly reported for unemployment rate is called U3...another way that is also counted and probably closer to being correct imo is called U6.

"U3 is the official unemployment rate. U5 includes discouraged workers and all other marginally attached workers. U6 adds on those workers who are part-time purely for economic reasons. The current U6 unemployment rate as of October 2019 is 7.00."

That 7% number is probably more in line with the real unemployment...I would look more for that number as a representation of unemployment...all administrations like using that U3 number though since it looks better.

You have to understand how reporters get the numbers. They typically get them by contacting sources at DirecTV and Dish network, then using that information to project what the fight did on cable and digital as well.

DirecTV and Dish usually have that info a few days after the fight, people run their mouths and a day or two after that.

But a lot of people took off work on Wednesday and then didn't have work Thursday or Friday due to Thanksgiving. Reporters are going to have travel reaching these people over Thanksgiving and/or have enough tact to not bother them during that time.

Numbers should start to leak out tomorrow or Tuesday as people come back to work.

lets be generous and say it did 250k even though that sounds pretty nuts but lets get nuts. that means it generated about 13.5 million in revenue for pbc after accounting for the networks cut...the fighters earned twice that... its ok im sure the live gate did great...
